I'm a big fan of the original, but even that was totally wrong about the mythology. I'll go see it just to see the Kraken and the scorpions and the other fight scenes. Hopefully the action will be good enough to make it a good basic popcorn movie.

Thats what I'm saying. Not every movie has to be a piece of art. Sometimes I like a good 'lizard brain' flick (appeals to your lizard brain, speed, bright colors, light, sound, action...the one that still makes you happy when there are big explosions for no reasons in movies).

i have a sneak peak for this tomorrow. still debating on going (its about 30 mins away) but its a free 3d movie which are now running thanks to the price hike , 15 bucks
so im probably going to go just for the entertainment of it all and the fact i wouldnt pay for this

well guys just got back from my screening. It was okay...kept me entertained the entire time and the girl who plays his romantic interest is soooooo hot
the special effects were great and the story kept a good pace

Everything I've read about this has saying it is one of the worst examples of 3-D. I can only imagine this is the beginning for movies that are rendered for 3-D in post production and not actually shot for it.

I grew up on the original and I've looked forward to this for about 8 months but a couple weeks ago, 10 little snippets were released somewhere online and I was....disappointed, to say the least. These 2 reviews (I don't usually listen to critics but I trust these 2 writers) pretty much say the movie is all but unwatchable. I'm still going to see it but I'm not nearly as excited as I was half a year ago.

Also, Sam Worthington was not a good choice in my opinion. I'm glad he's blowing up but I'm kind of tired of seeing already. He's very one note anyway.

I saw this in 2D. I thought it was a decent action flick that kept me entertained. Lots of lols were delivered because I thought the guy made of stone looked like Megatron, and with Pegasus because for some reason that horse looked ridiculous flying with wings.

yes, saw it last night. Some of the FX was pretty cool but as a whole I'd say it's a waste of 10 dollars.

I figured I'd post this in hear because I don't want people to waste their money.

As we know, the 3D version of this film is a convert.

I work at a movie theatre and we got an e-mail saying that there are numerous problems with the 3D version of this film and they aren't going to do anything about it.

- in several things, images jump from the foreground to the background for no reason
- several parts of the print will just because 2D for several minutes and then go back to 3D.

This isn't for all of the prints, but I heard it does effect a vast majority of them.

(also, in my opinion, the movie sucks either way, so just see the 2D)

Bubo is a part of what made the original for me. I definitely do not have plans on seeing the remake, especially with your essential Bubo sighting (or lack thereof) update.

The pretending it's 3D to make more money is pure bullshit, don't even try to disagree. From what I've read, they did a shoddy as hell job trying to make it a 3D picture after the fact, and I would be happy if it backfired. And Piranha 3 is going to be a riot. But it is supposed to be incredibly silly and over the top, so it makes sense the trailer conveyed that feeling, hah. Should have good gore, though, because the dude that is directing knows his stuff in that department.
