the fact that Jesus exhisted is not questioned. but there is no proof that he is any sort of God. there is no substantial proof of Noah's Ark either. they have an idea that it might be there, but they can't get to where they think it is. its not like its sitting in the smithsonian.

now think of it this way. every major religion shares at least some qualities. throughout history many religions have spoken of a flood, etc. how exactly is christianity the right one? is it possible that another religion got the facts right more than yours?

also the Big Bang is just one of many theories about the origins of the universe and the evolution of man is an entirely different issue.

but yes, you are correct in that much of the theory of evolution is based on possibilities and not facts. personally i do not entirely believe it for the reasons you said, but that doesn't make christianity right. the stories of the bible make even less sense than the theory of evolution. also, the bible itself has become so vastly different from its original state (through language translations, different versions, etc) i do not see how you can sit there and say that (at least im assuming you'd say that) it is correct.

The old testiment was written before the birth of jesus.
Scientific Proof: Copies of the old testiment have been carbondated to be older than 2050 years old (christ lived 2003 years ago, obviously). Whats even more curious, is that these manuscripts tell of the coming of Jesus. Even more scientific proof: The Dead Sea Scrolls have been carbondated as even older than the scripture copies.

Biblical Proof: The bible says that those things were written before Jesus was born.

As for evolution: The descovery of Otzy (the oldest human skeleton as of yet) totaly blows away that theory, and thats why the whole evolution thing has lost a lot of steam since the 70's. You see, the proof of evolution was based on the descovery of skeletons that seemed partly human, and partely ape. The idea was that this human/ape was a race of humans before they evolved into what we know as humans today, but when Otzy was descovered, they found that he was older than the ape/human. Thus cutting off the evolution theory at its proverbial knees. And Darwin himself (the originator of the evolution theory) became a Christian months before he died, and admitted that his ideas were wrong, and that his studys were inconclusive.

As for the big bang: Its physicaly impossible. I highly recomend you read the March 2002 issue of "Popular Science" it tells u why. Plus 99.02% of Physicists also believe that the big bang theory is rediculous.

Why do I believe in God? Its just too convnient for all this to have happened by chance. Like the way the sun just so happens to give off the kind of light rays that plants need to make the kind of air that humans just so happen to need to live. Like, its all planned out too perfectly to say that there is no God.

what was being referred to as being written years after Jesus was the new testament. nobody questions when the old testament was written. still the fact that it really is that old does not prove it. nothing can flat out prove it. every civilization since the origins of man has come up with their own form of spirituality. right now we call what the greeks believed mythology. in civilizations to come, it is likely that christianity will be seen similarly. there is just no solid proof, and much of what is seen as proof (the bible) contradicts itself in many ways. personally i dont think that we'll ever know where we came from.

man.. i just read this whole damn thread. and i wish i was around for the anti-religion talk ...

i hate religion, my mom forces me to go to church every sunday (including today) and i just sit there twiddling my fingers thinking about how stupid people are for believing it.. sorry if i offend anyone but damn its like a cult ..with somewhat decent values.. everyone just sits there listening to the priest talk about bullshit that everyone has come to believe is the way it should be. i can be a good person without going to church every sunday. i hate looking at all the cookie cutter families that sit in the front row just so every other family can see them and say "wow there good people cuz they go to church" .. grrr. im never making my kids go to church ever.. i'd rather bring them to a backstreet boys concert

ive never been to church. well only for like the easter services but that was with school so it dont really count. but ive never been on like a sunday with my family. im not baptised either. hope im not gonna go to hell *gasps*!!! hee hee
