well the head gasket went out on my honda today.the shop quoted me $700 to fix it.
or i could fix it my self if i had the time.$73.46 for the head gasket.but it would be my first time.
i could buy a new motor for around $250 all the way up to$1000.i have changed out my motor before.
or i could buy a cheap running car?
any opinions?i dont know what i should do?

i say go for it yourself. you replaced the engine, how much harder can it be to remove cylinder heads and replace the gasket? plus, thats like over 600 bucks you're saving to spend on fixing it if by some chance you do it wrong.

that sucks man....did you not change your oil with your oil filter?and i use sea foam to clean my fuel system....i smoke up the neabor hood for a week then it stops.fun stuff sea foam is.

Without the computer the transmission won't shift and the car will simply move at a snail's pace or will simply default to limp mode, which can either be 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear. check your throttle position sensor too, those go bad in hondas really easily for whatever reason, and they feed data to your car's computer when it comes to acceleration and shifting as well.
