Despite the rather mind-boggling rate at which Earth is losing atmosphere -- 5×1025 molecules per second -- scientists say there is no cause for alarm (http://dsc.discovery.com/space/im/earth-atmosphere-hans-nilsson.html). If the loss rate stays the same, the planet's atmosphere will last for several more billion years.

Why would I blame them? You posted the article, obviously without reading it, you just thought the title sounded cool.

The sun could explode in a few billion years and destroy the solar system. Should we try to contain the inevitable destruction of a star, and have a topic to brainstorm ideas to stop it?
