Flyers acquire Nedved [Archive]

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - The Phoenix Coyotes on Friday traded center Petr Nedved to the Philadelphia Flyers for defenseman Dennis Seidenberg.

The Flyers will also have the option of swapping fourth-round draft choices with the Coyotes at this year's entry draft and third-round choices with the Coyotes in next year's entry draft.

Nedved, who was benched earlier in the season, had two goals and nine assists in 25 games in his first season with the Coyotes.

Seidenberg has been in the NHL three years, all with the Flyers. He has two goals and five assists this season.

dude had one good season (in 95) and since then really hasnt been that great but because of that season, some regard him as a good solid player. hes trash. a bad trade. they need defensive help and a new goalie, not another center.

you must have a bad memory. i believe he said something about the 26 yankees titles when rebutting against you're mindless "fuck the flyers" comment. i don't see how that enlightened comment had anything to do with the Flyers signing Nedved. Also, it's really the mark of an annoying fan who brags that they've seen their team win a title like they did something to help acheive that. Florida Marlins fans have seen 2 titles. Big fucking deal.

My comment was merely a comment on how you seem to be intent on bragging about what the Devils did years ago rather than the fact that they're 11 points behind the Flyers right now. I just didn't know a few years ago was more important that right now.

regular season can mean a lot if it means you don't make the playoffs...last i checked the flyers were in 3rd and the Devils were just 2 points from being outside looking in. i'm just saying, i don't see the point in throwing a stanley cup or championship from years ago around like it means a thing now.

definately...they've stepped up a lot this year...

pitt outplayed philly today and the flyers won which is a great sign. if they can get healthy during the olympics...hopefully we can get the vets playing top notch hockey.

agreed but if carolina and detroit are ahead of the flyers, you have to take into account that they played both teams at the end of a ridiculous road trip without...well i dont need to name who is hurt, you know...i just think the flyers have ottawa's number and carolina won't be in it for the long haul
