Ok so it may be over done, but there was a thread talking about how good Lebron will be. After becoming the youngest player to 5,000 points I'd like to see what caliber player Lebron will be remembered as.

Until he starts taking the big shots, he's only a top 10 player to me.
Kobe, on the other hand, i'd say top 3.

i agree with the above statement. I know he's young, but he doesn't seem to have that killer instinct that Kobe and Jordan have.
besides, i usually only call players a "top 3 of all time" after they've retired. the only one i've broken this rule with, is Tim Duncan, who is the best power forward of all time.

Lebron > Kobe...sorry but Kobe is a ball hog and when you take 30-40 shots a game, you are bound to score a lot of points.

he will never live to be as good as the media made him out to be.
god, once he becomes a Net and that team gets moved to Brooklyn, shit is gonna get wild.

kobe is not a top 3 all time player. neither is tim duncan. you guys need to respect your elders. cmon. theres soooooooooo many better plays in history than tim duncan and kobe bryant.
Russell, Wilt, Jordan, Bird, Magic, McHale (the most underrated player of all time), Bob Cousy, John Havlicheck, Tommy Heinson, Jerry West (the dude is the fucking LOGO)
just to name a few. dont get me wrong, duncan is a great player. probably top 20 all time, but seriously you cant tell me hes better than the dudes i listed.

McHale was not better than Tim Ducan. McHale never averaged double-digit rebounds in a season, Tim Duncan's lowest average was 11.1. McHale averaged more than 20 points a game 5 times. Duncan has done it every year he's been in the league (8 in a row). Duncan's assist and block numbers are better. Duncan has two MVP's, McHale 0. Duncan has been an All-NBA first teamer all eight years of his career. McHale did it once.
It's tough to compare Heinsohn since he played 40 years before Duncan when the game was completely different. However, Heinsohn never won a MVP and only made the All-NBA second team twice.
For the moment I think is magic-esque.
He hasn't enough things behind him.

first off. top 20 is not dominique-esque. he wasn't even top 50 player of all time.

hahahahaha. wow. kobe averages 27 shots per game. and this is his highest average so far in a year, his previous high being 23 pg.
but your statement is just plain stupid. every leader on any given team, is going to take the majority of that team's shots. kobe, lebron, iverson, carmelo, pierce, dirk, redd, wade, arenas, etc...all of those guys take around 20 shots per game. so of course they're going to score alot of points. that's what a team leader does.
also i dont think a guy who's second on his team in assists, even if it is 4.3 per game, is a ball hog.
kobe does take alot of shots per game...but even last year, when he took only 20 shots per game...he averaged nearly 28 per...kobe is ahead of lebron as a player right now.

id take duncan over mchale any day. but there's not one season where i think mchale was an overall better player than duncan. duncans defense is better, his rebounding ability is better, etc etc.
however, mchale is probably one of the best sixth men of all time.
i wouldnt put duncan top 3 of all time. MAYBE top 10. but there's alot of good players in nba history.

haha why would you want him to
well, in comparing him to McHale at PF... McHale clotheslined Kurt Rambis cuz Bird called the Celtics soft.
