I just finished watching a press conference on ABC by the leaders of the UK, US, Portugal, and Spain. They said that tomorrow is the "day of reckoning". Read about it here (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,81201,00.html).
Watching that, I realized how bad a speaker President Bush is. A lot of the time he's just kind of searching for the words to say what he's thinking. He has great ideas, but he can't communicate them very well. For example, he said that the UN had to use it's "legs of responsibility". That's just kind of dumb. Blair is such a good speaker. I wish Bush could be that good.

OK, you're right. But the way then do it (with or without UN) will be made tomorrow, it will more than likely be without. It's about time.

I read the other day that if they go to war without UN aprouval, that the soldoers could face criminal charges. i'll see if I can find the link.

Criminal charges from who? The UN? First of all, the US is exempt from the UN criminal court. Second, the US is a soverign nation (as well as Britian, Spain, Portugal, etc) as has the right to defend itself. No deadlocked international body should be able to dictate our safety.

Nice bias site.
No country on earth would allow there soliders to be prosecuted, it just shows the stupidity of the United Nations, that they want to prosecute soliders ending a dictatorship, but not the dictator himself.

i'm pretty sure because we were the most powerful country after wwII and when the UN was founded they probably had to make some conscessions to get the US to back it. the UN needed the US but the US did not need the UN. again, i don't really know, if someone finds the real reason, post it.

Your hypocracy is amazing. If the US dosn't have to answer to any higher power the why should Iraq?

Because Iraq has a maniacal dictator who will use his weapons to destroy whatever he can. Iraq is dangerous. It will not hurt anyone to have American "war criminals" to be tried in America.

i think that the lesson learned from 9/11 is that we can't afford to wait until after something happens to take action.

If they are captured by Iraqi forces, they could be tried under Iraqi law.
Are there any other countries that don't have to aswer to a "higher powere" is this one of those deals that only appliy to the US?

The internation community (granted, not all of it) decided that Saddam was a threat and decided to move in.
Appeatantly, the UN decided that having American answer to an international court wasn't too high a priority, or they would have pushed more for it.
