Anyway, I am writing a 7 song story, pretty much detailing the final week of a man's life.
"One Times Square"
I am trying to fall asleep to the sound of a soft melody
A quarter past three
And the piano player continues to play with great harmony
I am trying to fall asleep to the sound of a soft melody
A quarter past four
And the piano player continues to play with great harmony
I am trying to fall asleep to the sound of a soft melody
A quarter past five
And the piano player continues to play with great harmony
I am trying to fall asleep to the sound of a soft melody
A quarter past six
And the piano player continues to play with great harmony
I am trying to fall asleep to the sound of a soft melody
A quarter past seven
And the piano player continues to play with great harmony
Oh, but now it is time for me to wake
Prepare myself for another demanding day
Take the F train into the city
And then I shall be on my way.
"Avenue of the Americas"
I can see you darlin’
The reflection of an inner-city shop window
I can see you darlin’
In loving memory; out for display
I can hear you darlin’
Your tender, soft voice singing in my ears
I can see you darlin’
Alone in your casket being buried away
You are far gone darlin’
That drunken bastard, how dare he take thee away?
Oh you are far gone darlin’
I can still hear our wedding bells ringing in pain
But I can still see you darlin’
Holding my hand as we watch the parade
And I can still feel you darlin’
Your soft breast pressed against my skin
I can still taste you darlin’
How I wish I kissed you before you went away
I miss your scent darlin’
Keeps fading away from my lonely sheets
Well so long darlin’
You have helped me become everything that I am
I love you darlin’
I will be with you some day again.
