til lebron wins three rings the answer is kobe.

yes, but the question is do you think Lebron will top that? And if Lebron wins 1 or 2, does that still mean he can't compare to Kobe?

If Kobe doesn't hav Shaq, he doesn't win anything. I am taking LBJ, he is only 21 and is the better all around player.

ive come to the conlusiton that that is the dumbest argument of all time.

jordan doesnt win without pippen. no team that has a superstar, can win without one or two others there to help them. kobe's played ONE season without shaq, one in which he was injured for part of the season. this season they've got the 8th playoff seed as of now...and could finish as high as 4th or 5th. sure they wont win the title...but making the playoffs is the first step. lebron's has the pieces to do that for two years...and still isnt able to lead his team.

my bet. lebron never wins a chip. unless it's glenn robinson style.

Jordan wouldn't have won anything without Pippen either. Kobe will never win another championship.

ok. but he STILL has three championships. that he helped lead the lakers too. you cant just say it was all shaq. because that wasnt the case at all. even if kobe doesnt ever win another championship...he's already got three. when kobe was 21 he was winning a championship. lebron is 21 and fighting to get out of the first round of the playoffs.

But look who Kobe had on his team. Other than the obvious domination of Shaq, he had great veteran leaders on his team like Ron Harper, Brian Shaw, Rick Fox, Robert Horry, and Derek Fisher. Lebron hasn't had anyone like that on his team yet.

your argument is still weak drew. i dont think brian shaw and his 4 ppg were a factor, or rick fox and his 4 ppg were a factor. horry yes. in 2000, the lakers did get 12 ppg from glen rice in the playoffs.

sure the lakers had some decent players. but the cavs have big z who's a top five center in the leauge. drew gooden who can put up 10 and 10 a night. larry hughes when he's healthy is a beast.

in lebron's first season he had z, boozer, jeff mcinnis etc. and even last season with z, gooden etc.

veteran leadership is a cop out phrase. the wizards had the best veteran leadership of all time in michael jordan...did the make the playoffs?

Rick Fox did more than score points, he played a lot and was a great role player. Big Z is hurt too much and Gooden is inconsistant, McInnis was a time bomb. Boozer was good. If you put Lebron on the Lakers and Kobe on the Cavs, the Cavs would be in last place and Shaq would still be in LA.

you're breaking out the if's dude. there's no if's in this argument. BUT, if you want to use them, we can. IF lebron was on the lakers, he probably wouldn't have started. jackson would've sat him on the bench, regardless of hype. and IF you put kobe on the cavs when he came into the leauge, he would've put up lebron type numbers. therefore both of these situations cancel each other out. as for big z he USED to be hurt alot. but since lebron's been in the leauge, he's only missed 4 games in three seasons. and if 14 games with less than 10 points and 39 double doubles last season for drew gooden inconsisten, i want a team full of inconsitent players.

LeBron is my choice. He's a better overall player, and a better team player. He'll get rings eventually, he's only 21. He has many, many years left in him and he's not even close to his prime yet and he's still one of the best players in the NBA.

unless he gets a scottie pippen, or a shaquille oneal. he's not winning shit. he cant even win games by himself.

Lebron still seems like the kind of guy that will eventually make those around him much better. He has yet to prove that he can win, but I like what I've seen so far, moreso than Kobe at the same point in his career (stats aside). I would love to see Lebron get put in a situation to succeed.

I agree. I am a big proponent of making people around you better (a la jordan) and i totally think James will do this.. Kobe is so selfish. I just went to a Suns-Lakers game last night and he dribbled down the court and shot a 26 foot three pointer on 4 straight possessions, missing all of them..

huh? the lakers made it to the western conference semis twice and conference finals in kobe's first three years. and if you wanna go buy age...when kobe was lebrons age(21)he was winning his first nba championship.

That's why I said stats aside. I'm going purely on the basis that I like the way Lebron plays more than Kobe's game. Lebron will win his championships.

neither was i, kobe is HOOD RICH but ..

Hes selfish and when the game hinges on whether you make half of your 30+ shots or not...

Lebron the other night..51 points and 8 or 9 assists or something. I love that

i still dont see where kobe is selfish. since his suspension here's his state line:

42 ppg, 6 rpg, 4 apg, 2 spg, 48% from the field, 39% from three, and 92% from free throw...and leading the lakers to a 6-3 record. since he's came back from the suspension he's REALLY stepped up his play, if it was even possible.

just for comparison. in his last nine games here's lebron's stats.

33 ppg, 7 apg, 7 rpg, .5 spg, 48% fg, 35% from three, and 65% from the free throw line...and the cavs are 7-2 during that streak.

lebron is a great player. and i know he's only a kid. but people saying he's already better than kobe is just ridiculous. he REALLY needs to work on his free throws. he missed clutch free throws at the end of the nuggets game earlier in the week. and as most of you know he's 2-15 in game winning situations. people say it's because it's young, but i dont think he can handle that pressure.

out of the stat lines, the most noticeable # is the assists. but other than that kobe's line is more impressive.

Lebron is the better player than Kobe but Kobe right now has the experience. Lebron's never had the team that Kobe's had with the Shaq-era Lakers and until he gets that, he will never pass Kobe. But if he does, watch out...seems that Lebron will blossom into a better player than Jordan.

I'd take Lebron because of his age. I think Kobe's glory days are behind him while Lebron's are still ahead.
