View Full Version : Big Monday Cuse @ Pitt

I think this is going to be an incredibly tough game for Cuse coming from a road loss against Nova just 2 days ago. Pitt got shocked at the Johnny's and will return home looking for blood. I don't really see Cuse having much of a chance to win considering their lack of offensive weapons and Pitt's solid defense. Krauser should be able to keep Gerry in check and Pitt should win by double digits...
Thoughts?

Normally I'd laugh, but you did say Gtown would down the Blue Devils...

Yeah, I have Cuse, but in one of those games where they get up by like 10, and Pitt comes back to within 3 until they fall short in the end.
I think Pitt will struggle against Cuse's defense. Pitt's TO to Assist ratio isn't particurly great, and the 2-3 zone forces you to pass well, which I don't remember seeing Pitt be overly good at. They will find a way to break it in the 2nd half, but not until they are down by a decent amount.
Also, Syracuse does have good options at forward in Roberts and Nichols (both around 14 points a game), so they can find other sources. It's gonna be an interesting matchup between Gerry and Carl.

I think Pitt bounces back. Yeah, they played a pretty weak schedule while they were undefeated. And yes, they were outplayed by St.John's. But, I look at it this way ..
-Pittsburgh is at home. They've already beaten a legit Wisconsin team.
-They went on the road and beat Louisville (which gave UConn a run for their money)
-St. John's was a hot team, coming off a victory against Louisville. A loss to them isnt an embarrassment.
Syracuse has done nothing to prove they are even a top 25 worthy team. The only win they have thats been somewhat impressing is the road win against Cincy. They lost there 3 tough games (Villanova, Florida and UConn). I like Pitt, 68-60.

I agree with your first statement, im looking for pitt to make a small comeback here and shock some people as to how they play

Cuse can't keep playing as bad as they have been - that's my only rationalization.

I'd love to see Cuse pull out an upset. I hope they can.

Syracuse could stop killing themselves with slow starts.
