i don't think you should have to pay him to come to your graduation. it almost defeats the purpose.

any father who asks for money to see his own child graduate is not worth having there. seriously, do NOT send him money. By him asking, he has shown that he doesn't really care about you.

Pretty much, your dad isn't a good dad. That's really sad that he wants you to pay him to come to your graduation.

That's fucked up...I know he's your dad and all, but I'm with everyone else here, there's no way YOU should have to pay him to come...it's like he's a dad for hire or something like that

Do not give him money. If he really cared he would come just to see you at this milestone. He sounds like he would take the money and not come still. I don't know if I am judging him too harshly though

all these people are quick to judge your father when they really dont know him, he could be a good guy but doesnt have the money right now...

a father wouldn't say i am not going unless you pay me. he would get a second job to make some extra cash to come.

Fuck that. Spend that 175 on some booze and a new dress and go fuck your daddy issues away with a lucky boy.

everyone pretty much summed up what i think.
your dad obviously needs to get his priorities straight if he cant come up with enough money to see his daughter graduate. it's not like graduation is a spur of the moment thing that you can't save up for.

i agree with everyone... don't pay him, its like giving him a gift for going to your birthday party when its supposed to be the other way around.

if my dad asked me to pay for him to come to my graduation id tell him to get lost

if he wants to be there he will be

if not, this is something you have done for yourself, you dont need other peoples support to achive anything

Yea, don't pay him. He should be getting YOU a graduation gift. That's pretty sad :(

Suchasucker
02/04/06, 02:01 AM
Wow... that's just low. I can't believe someone would seriously say that to their child.

Definitely don't send him money.

I know he's your dad and you'd like him to be there, but he's really not worth if he's making it a money issue. You're better off without him.
