Lobster Records (www.lobsterrecords.com) has entered into an exclusive, long-term distribution pact with Victory Records (www.victoryrecords.com) on a worldwide basis. Read below for more details.
Chicago, IL – Santa Barbara based Lobster Records has entered into an exclusive, long-term distribution pact with Victory Records on a worldwide basis. Steve Lubarsky, President of Lobster Records said, "We've always had this idea of the highest common denominator; in other words, there is an audience of really sharp, sensitive kids who want bands that speak from the heart using melody and musicianship. Those bands are the artists we seek out and provide with support to launch their careers into self-sustaining mode. Proper A&R work is the foundation of our success and will continue to be so. New artists realize our label is a great place to make the album they want to make." Lobster Records started as a home business in 1998 by three music fans all of whom remain with the company actively promoting their original vision. Label discoveries Yellowcard, and Over It have gained international notice. Current acts Mock Orange, Park, Lorene Drive and Days Like These are currently garnering much industry attention.
“I am excited that Steve decided to make Lobster a part of the Victory family. Any day that I can add another passionate, fellow entrepreneur to the list of people we do business with is a victorious day for me. As owners of fully independent record companies there is a level of experience sharing, synergy and understanding that simply would not exist for Steve under any other arrangement,” says Victory’s Tony Brummel. “The reality of the record business in 2006 is that anyone can find the next great Artist. Steve will have some big records during the course of our relationship and I cannot wait to be part of that. Lobster is known as a place where great, modern, rock records are born. I am a fan of many of his Artists. Closing this deal with Steve while in France for the beginning of Midem makes this quite momentous on a personal level as well.”
