9 is too short. I feel ripped off when I buy a 10-track cd. 9 just crosses the line.

"Bleeding Mascara" was a cool song.

The 9 tracks surprised me. And the Curse came out in summer of 2004, so it's close to two years.
I like the art.

I am glad there are only nine songs. I just hope that means that they are all really good, and no filler at all. Anyway, there are bands that try to make their cd's seem longer by putting 11 tracks on there and really have an intro and an interlude, so I don't really mind this as long as there are no interludes or intros.

Thoughts on the man on fire on the Atreyu cover art:

Number 1: What a flamer. haha corniest joke of my life but i couldn't refrain from typing that shit. Nor could i stop laughing for about 69 minutes after i thought of that.

Number 2: That dude on the cover seriously needs some TOUGH ACTING TYNACTIN (spelling?) You know that athlete's foot creme commercial that John Madden does?ha i can just picture john saying "BOOM"

Godspeed! You Black Emperor released a CD that was three songs and just over an hour long. I really don't think the amount of songs means anything if there's some substance behind them. God Forbid's Constitution of Freedom was 10 songs and 50 minutes long. Quality, not quantity is what makes a CD good.

It could mean that they are 9 very good songs, but Atreyu seem to do nothing but disappoint me. I remember seeing them in Cardiff when they played about an 8 song set (which seemed like a forced routine at best, rather than a live show) and they actually said the following "There will be no encore"...

With that they walked off...

I personally think they can't be arsed writing anymore material and want to release the CD before the hype fades.
