for me a depressing movie is one where at the end the characters are hopeless, the end of the lion king is hopeful
which is why they didn't just take hamlet word for word, that would not be for kids, becoming a man is

i loved this movie for different reasons as i child. i didn't know it was a comedy when i was little. i just loved the characters, slimer, stay puft, the theme song, all the cool shit. and i was obsessed with the cartoon as well.

now that i'm older... i appreciate its comedic value. this movie has some of the funniest lines and performances in history. it truly is the greatest comedy ever.

It was a little creepy and it really got your attention as a kid, I couldn't get pass the idea he was just flying on his bed.

Sleeping, dreams and nightmares are such a big part of childhood, this movie played around with all of that.
