Ether.

Haha, I know. This is a good move for Nas though, they'll push his new album big time. Street's Disciple should've went over a lot better than it did.

This is awesome.

Nas & Hova need to make a collabo album. With Kayne's production. Um, and help from Jon Brion. Word.

nas is amazing.
'street's deciple' was fucking terrible. really didnt like his new direction. he's a storyteller, and hopefully his new album is full of stories.
AND he's the only hip hop artist that isnt fake, unlike, say: fifty cent or ja rule.

Hey! Ja Rule ain't fake. When he raps about love with Ashanti I can tell he means it and that it comes from the <3. I mean not too many hardcore gangsta rappers can pull that off.

for rap music to be real it doesnt have to be "intellegent empowered brotha" shit

listen to the record Beanie Sigel put out last year. Is that anything BUT real? Is Bun B fake? There's more good hip hop than just the backpacker shit

I would understand covering this if this was a website devoted to all kinds of music. I know they cover everything metal, hardcore, indie, punk, emo what-have-you. But this music does not fall under the punk umbrella. Don't tell me how hip hop and punk grew from the same place. I know they did. But now they are two totally seperate things.

Talib and Mos Def have more of a "punk" mentality than half the bands covered on this site.

Shut up.

i completely agree.

anyone who's only into that backpack shit needs to listen to the new Ras Kass album that he released by himself.

"i had a *** slapped cause he came up to me with his backpack and said my album was wack cause it wasn't 'abstract'. that's that cat from before. he got mad cause he couldn't take a picture with me after the show. i suggest you put your ego in check. we don't make threats and hide behind an email address."

And Talib Kweli might just be my favorite rap/hip-hop artist in recent memory.

He's good, but for me its a tie between the mighty MOS and Talib. not so much black star, but the solo stuff is boss.
