ok so this is from an article for my politics class...
its written about the public opinion before and one year after 9/11. it is written in july of 2002
and i quote: the public showed more wariness about increased surveillance at home. As one study concluded: "Americans were...moderately supportive of the government monitoring communications when the target of investigation remained vague but were less supportive of broad communicatins monitoring of ordinary citizens when the target was the phone, e-mail message, or regular mail of ordinary Americans, including themselves." When asked about increased government ability to monitor activites of ordinary citizens, a majority was opposed, and the level of opposition increased notably as time passed."
i find this all quite funny...
