View Full Version : Random word censorships?

I changed the title below my username to "carried in the arms of cheerleaders", a reference to a song by The National, but the word "leader" appears to be censored. What gives?
I'm relatively new to the site, so maybe I'm doing something wrong here, but I don't know. Doesn't make much sense.

Haha uh, I'm not sure what's up with that. Weird. Unless you actually wrote something else, since there are a couple of six-letter words that are censored, and for good reason.
Try updating it again and see what happens.

10 bucks says this is a prank and he actually has a derogatory term compounded with "cheer". hell, both of the ones i know of that get censored on this site are also six letters.

I changed it to something else, submitted the changes, and then went back in and re-submitted it again. It's still censored. I even went in and just wrote "leader" by itself and it was still censored. And I'm positive I spelled it right.
It's not really a big deal, I'm sure I can find another user title, but is there anything you or anyone can do? It's mostly just annoying.

I'll take that bet.

I changed it to something else. Still lame, though.
I'm fairly certain it is like that because words like "administrator", "leader", "moderator", etc. are censored from the user title area (vBulletin default) to prevent people from claiming to be a member of the staff. It can be changed.
