If the Vikings were to trade Dante where do you think he'd go, and what would MN get for him, and where would our next QB come from and be? (Brad Johnson isn't an answer)

I think the obvious candidates are Arizona, Oakland, and Miami. I think they could get a 2nd round pick and a role player for him ..maybe a 1st rounder if a team gets desperate enough (Oakland seems dumb enough to do that).

Minny would be stupid to draft a young guy because the QB class isnt particularly deep. They could go after a decent veteran like Kitna or Warner, or maybe even trade for a backup like Patrick Ramsey and hope he turns it around.

Bottom line, if I'm Minnesota I keep Culpepper. I don't think hes an elite QB, but he's good enough to build around.

If they do decide to get rid of him, Brad Johnson could be the best of a bad situation.

I would love to see him go to Arizona, but what Arizona needs is a running game more than anything. There's the best possible chance that he goes to Miami, in my opinion. Developing running game, good set of WRs, etc. They had a winning season with shitty QBs all season.

yeah Miami seems like a likely spot. I don't think they'd pass on Cutler though if he were there still ...then again they might just go get Daunte before the draft and fill other needs with their pick.

Arizona would be way better if they got Culpepper. He could throw to Fitz and Boldin all day long, and the running game already improves itself by adding him.

lions are projected to take cutler at #9.

I'm surprised. Have the Lions said anything about the pick, or is that just Kiper? I figured they'd steer clear of drafting a young QB because of the Harrington debacle, and they have plenty of other needs. Plus, Cutler seems pretty risky at #9.

That's true. Daunte needs out though. It's better for Minnesota, and any team who takes him.

I just have no idea what the hell Minnesota will do without him. They don't have a good enough pick to nab Leinart, Young, or even Cutler for that matter. The FA crop of QB's is awful too. They'd be setting themselves back a few years if they move him.

minus the fact that he's thrown one bad ball at senior practices in Mobile, Alabama, scouts have said he's the best QB at those practices. And it's Kipers prediction, i haven't heard much yet about what detroit plans to do. but just beacuse of the harrington debacle you don't quit drafting QB's. besides, it wasn't all harrington's fault. he was set up to fail on a team with no leadership on the offensive side of the ball, a head case with a coke proble (charles rogers) a running back that Marriucci felt the need to use only on 1st downs (kevin jones) who could be a full time back, a reciever core as a whole that doesn't catch the ball, three straight #1 picks wasted on recievers, and an o-line that forgets that it is part of their job description to block, both for the run and the pass. and couple that with the fact that he's a high pick himself, and hasn't produced like a Carson Palmer and people want to hang him from a tree.

I think taking a chance with Omar Jacobs is possible. Or maybe stealing him, who knows. The guys a good QB from what I hear.

Brad Johnson has one more year in him I'd say. I think they'd make the right move with trading Daunte, even if they don't draft or pick up a QB.

minnesota could always trade him, suck really bad next year, and take Brady Quinn in the 07 draft.

Even if they have Daunte they might still suck. Who would they get for Daunte, that's the thing. We just don't know I guess.
