MC Lars (www.mclars.com) has just posted the first single off of his new album, The Graduate, on his MySpace (www.myspace.com/mclars) page. The song is called "Hot Topic Is NOT Punk Rock" and features The Matches. It's hilarious and has been getting quite a bit of radio play, so expect to hear more of it. The Graduate is in stores March 21st.

Bah, this is the worst of the new songs he's released on myspace so far. I guess it makes sense though, it's a perfect mTV song and will probably be fairly popular with the mainstream. Still can't wait for the new album though.

MC Lars haters aside, I like this song. It's MC Lars for crying out loud. At least he makes semi-socially conscious songs. And not singing about how girls mistreat him or trying to come up with some cliche dark poetry.
