Right now I am thinking hell yes because my electric that I have is terrible and I have a nice acoustic/electric so I am set with that.

id say yes, i just got a standard strat for $150, and it sounds way better than my other guitar which i paid $400 for.

I bought a standard tele off of ebay last year for 200 bucks... I tore the pickups out and put in a Seymour duncan single coil in the bridge (45 bucks) and an american lipstick in the neck (40 bucks). After that, I took it to a shop and had it set up (15 bucks).. It is the best guitar i've owned and I've had a LP junior, Ibanez's S series, an American strat, and an ES 335. Plus it's black on black..

So my opinion is... buy one... just make sure you change the pickups. and get a decent set up job (not guitar center). It'll cost 100 bucks but it will be like buying a high end guitar.

if you want something cheap and awasome i like to get squier teles and put seymour duncan pick ups in them

a friend of mine bought one a few years ago because he wanted to learn to play guitar, but he never really did, so i offered him 150 back in october and he said no, then i asked him again in january and i guess he needed the money bad enough. so im happy, cause it sounds great and i got a sweet deal

I don't like Strats at all. I like Teles a lot though.
