ok, so here's a list of the players available, its broken down by position and team. Why don't we post what our teams need and who would be a good choice to fill it (some people started this in the other thread but we can dedicate this thread to it)

here's the link = http://www.theredzone.org/2006/freeagents/

for the Pats i think they need another RB, and if they don't think they can get one, i sort of like Aman Green, he might be a good fit and probably comes in at less money than alexander or james. the pats though are notortious for not spending big bucks on a big name, so they might try to pick up a draft pick or a relative unknown, after all they won 2 superbowls with antwain smith.

at WR they are going to need either to keep Givens (who alot of teams are interested in, which surprised me because he was fairly underrated across the nation during the last few seasons) or sign at least 2 new recievers. Johnson is gone, and all other than Branch no one else is under contract. They may bring back a couple of guys at reasonable prices (Davis, Dwight, definetly Brown if he's got another year left in him), so for arguements sake lets say they let Givens go. they need a solid number 2 and probalby a good number 3. They probalby won't spend on a guy like Wayne or Randel-El so maybe someone like Warrick or Mcardell? Vets who might not ask top dollar. then again, they tried real hard to bring derek mason in here at top dollar so maybe they will take a shot at Wayne (though they'd probably prefer to spend the money and keep Givens).

They need to get younger at LB so they'll probably draft a couple early in the draft but i would love to see them take Peterson from the Niners, leaving their last major whole to plug in the secondary. without knowing how Harrison will be next year, they will probably take a look at a quality saftey, maybe a veteran like Shulters or Tank Williams? at CB they would love to have a pure shut down guy, samuels played well late in the year but he isn't going to be the next Ty Law, randall gay is said to be their best cover guy, but not extremely phsyical and prone to injury, and hobbes looked good but is still young. depending on what they want to spend they might try to bring in someone like Clements, but with the pats you never know, they might not take anyone and wait till the draft.

The Vikings:

Free Agency:
We need a running game, and we have lots of money-Shaun Alexander(he is the best or 2nd best in the NFL but will probably be resigned), Edgerrin James (pro-bowl caliber, still has a year or 2, long enough for us to draft a good RB), Chester Taylor/DeShaun Foster (cheaper, not pro-bowl caliber, but good consistent 1000 yd rushers)

We need an intimidating line backer, Julian Peterson (Mr.everywhere, play maker, pro-bowl caliber, fast, hard hitting), Cato June( this man makes plays, interceptions! pro-bowl player)Will Witherspoon ( good player, good takler, better than what we have)

We need someone to catch a ball, they sucked last year, we will take any one, Reggie Wayne (pro-bowl, not a burner but he can catch!) anyone else is worthy....

We need a RT, Rosenthal sucks, Stockar McDougle( he's a tower, way better than what we have)

Draft:
(note-pratical picks, left around 17)
RB: DeAngelo Williams, Lawrence Marhoney, LenDale White, good, fast, better than Benett.

LB: DeMeco Ryans, AJ Hawk, and multiple other LB's this draft is pretty deep here.

WR: There are always a lot of receivers, we could pick any one, it'd help.

RT: Justice might be left if not we might have to wait.

pats needs: Backup QB, RB, WR, LB, DB

QB: I'll assume that Flutie is retiring and Cassell isn't ready to be the backup. Maybe we could pick up Charlie Batch? Maybe Tim Hasselbeck? I mean, the options are slim, but we're gonna need a guy behind Brady.

RB: I'd like to draft someone. Fuck getting someone like Ahman Green, Dillon is wearing out and we need a really good RB in this draft, which just happens to be stacked. Maybe trade up to get Maroney or Williams? Or draft a back in the 2nd or third round like Jerome Harrison or Joseph Addai.

WR: I'd like to keep Givens, but regardless, Givens and Branch are both more no. 2's than n. 1s. I'd like the Pats to draft Maurice Stovall in the 2nd or 3rd round. A Charlie Weis guy.

LB: We need younger LB's. We've got the four starters set, but I'd like to draft a linebacker and I really have no idea where anyone will go. Maybe Bobby Carpenter first round?

DB: I'd like some kind of veteran, though I really like Hobbs, Samuel and Wilson. I think that's the core for the future. If we could draft Bullocks or a SS, i think that would really help.

Belichick is hard to guess what he's gonna do in Free Agency and the Draft. Most of his Free Agent pickups don't work out, and all of his draft picks work. I mean, compare Duane Starks, Chad Scott and David Terrell to Ellis Hobbs and David Givens.

If we sign Peter Warrick, he'll be the next David Terrell/Charles Johnson/Bert Emanual/Donald Hayes/JJ Stokes, I mean, seriously, do you remember all these guys? If their gonna spend the money for a free agent, make it someone like Wayne or Randle-El.

There are free agents who work, like Vrabel, but there's really no way to guess with those kind of guys. I'd say expect to get one of the Rockys (Calmus, Boiman).

Lions needs=O-line.
They need to resign jeff backus, as they can't let two straight starting tackles walk in two straight offseasons. (stockar mcdougal last year). then sign any of those OT and OG's and let them know that it is in their job description to block both for the pass and for the run; not for just one or the other or neither. Essentially, anyone on that list is an upgrade from the assheads we have up there now.
Marinelli has these goals he should be accomplishing this year:
1. Draft Jay Cutler at #9
2. Get Charles Rogers off coke, get Roy Williams to drop the pink panties and come out and play next year, get our recieving core to catch the ball
3. Get a better Offensive line
4. Let Kevin Jones play like he's the #1 back on the depth chart, which he is
5. Win 7-8 games next year.

the end.

Although I think he is too old to play, i think Doug flutie should be brought in as a correpondant directly to develop Rex grossman. The kid can play, but needs direction. We have a great O-line and way above average RB core when healthy (jones, benson, peterson). We could use another receiver to compliment Mushin. Gage is a good #3, but a bad #2. Our defense is sick.

Buffalo Bills:
Angelo Crowell LB RFA -ALREADY RESIGNED
Josh Stamer LB RFA - Great special teams player, more than adequate backup LB, a must resign.
Justin Bannan DT UFA - Bust. Bust. Bust.
Kevin Thomas CB UFA - Injury problems the last two years, should get a little contract
Mario Haggan LB RFA - See Josh Stamer.
Mike Schneck LS UFA - Great pickup right before this season...never heard his name mentioned all year, which is GOOD when you're the long snapper. It means you don't fuck up.
Nate Clements CB UFA - Franchise this dude. The franchise cap hit is low this season at CB (5.1 million I believe). His free agent value should have been driven way down by his poor performance this year.
Ron Edwards DT UFA - Injury problems, should stay in Buffalo as the #3 DT.
Ryan Denney DE UFA - Heh.
Sam Aiken WR UFA - See ya, you haven't done shit except drop the ball.
Shane Matthews QB UFA - He wanted to retire after LAST season.
Trey Teague C UFA - Let him walk, he's undersized and he's getting older.

FREE AGENT NEEDS:

LT - A big name is not going to happen, they'll stay with Mike Gandy, or draft someone. I'd like Kevin Shaffer from Atlanta
LG - Duke Preston might be able to shift here, Mike Gandy's natural position is LG and he'll take this spot if we get a LT.
C - LECHARLES BENTLEY PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST

TE - FA Crop is weak, we need to draft one or hope Kevin Everett comes off his ACL injury as a BEAST

FS - Decent market this year - Marlon McCree, Reggie Tongue, Will Demps, Tank Williams (though I think he's a SS)

DT - I'm looking to the draft here too, we need a big hole plugger to get next to Sam Adams.

i posted this in the other one but whatever...

Eagles Free Agent Wish List:

Jon Runyan (arguably most consistent eagle this year)
Jon Kitna (for obvious reasons)
Najeh Davenport (should have had him last year)
Reggie Wayne (won't happen but then need WR help and i don't see them drafting one early)
John Abraham (secondary got burnt cuz QBs had all day)
Julian Peterson (see above)

with a good draft position and i think the most cap room in the NFL, they should be back on top of the NFC next year

wayne would be a good pick up, if they can get rid of TO and his contract.
