well the question was stupid. why would i ask for a setlist in the first place if i was there and saw the band play? the reason this forum exists is so people can see what bands are playing if/when they go to shows. your comment shouldnt have ever been made. dick.

Just got back from erie, it was great but I walked in at 9 and bayside was already playing, so I'm not sure how much I missed but i'm pretty pissed that I missed some of it even it was just the first song. Here's what I saw though...moooostly in order.

Bold = awesome

Just Enough To Love You

Phone Call From Poland

The Walking Wounded

The Ghost of St. Valentine

We'll Be OK

Existing In A Crisis (Evelyn)

Paternal Reversal

How To Fix Everything (my request)

Don't Call Me Peanut

Megan

Landing Feet First

They Looked Like Strong Hands

Carry On

Duality

---

Cold And Blue And Lifeless

Devotion & Desire

I took videos, i'll let you know when they're up.
It was a fantastic show, but I wish they did more rare stuff (half a life, dear tragedy, more stuff from sirens) instead of landing feet first and they looked like strong hands. But still, getting to hear how to fix everything was amazing.

Too much from Sirens. Thats my least favorite Bayside album.

i can only imagine how insane people went for cold+blue.
i hope they carry some of these songs over to warped tour. it seems like they've been playing a pretty limited set for a couple of years, now.

The Opened with Tortures of the Damnned. They also played No One Understands, Blame It On Bad Luck and They're Not Horses, They're Unicorns.

Too much from Sirens. Thats my least favorite Bayside album.

That's such a good album. Are you more of a WW/Shudder person?

I'm going to this tour tomorrow. Clifton Park, NY - Northern Lights. Cold and Blue and Lifeless is my absolute favorite Bayside song, I only looked for that in the setlist as to not spoil it for me.

Anyone else going to the show tomorrow?!

I dont get why bayside doesn't play any songs of Shudder, not their best record, just strange that they only play 1 or 2 songs a night

JTMcKrackles
06/13/09, 09:29 PM
Well, these shows are fan requests, so maybe that's why you see the lack of Shudder material. Fans want to hear songs that haven't been played in awhile, or ever.

anamericangod
06/13/09, 09:34 PM
still no Talking of Michaelangelo, so it doesn't matter to me.

JTMcKrackles
06/13/09, 09:41 PM
That's in my Top 5 Bayside songs, so great. Maybe the set is different each show based on how many requested from each? It was in my list of requests.

06/14/09, 06:37 AM
last nights setlist was every song from self titled except half a life. duality, carry on, no one understands, the walking wounded, phone call from poland, landing feet first, just enough to love you, paternal reversal, theyre not horses theyre unicorns.

fuckin awesome show.

JTMcKrackles
06/14/09, 06:46 AM
That's nice. I'm hoping tonight will be more heavy on Sirens than anything else. I'm still crossing my fingers for CBL.

Here was the setlist for tonight in Clifton Park:

Tortures Of The Damned
Blame It On Bad Luck
They're Not Horses, They're Unicorns
No One Understands
Just Enough To Love You
Phone Call From Poland
The Walking Wounded
The Ghost of St. Valentine
We'll Be Ok
Carry On
Existing In a Crisis (Evelyn)
Don't Call Me Peanut (Just Ant)*
They Looked Like Strong Hands
Landing Feet First
Paternal Reversal
How To Fix Everything
Duality
-encore break-
Megan (Just Ant and Jack)*
Cold and Blue and Lifeless
Devotion and Desire

Hello Control played first, standard poppier than punk band. They replaced IATA.

Caleb Lionheart came on next, and they fucking slayed. They should have played before Bayside. Only myself and their photographer were singing along, and I got the mic all the time. I got a discount from Tony, the singer, afterwards on merch since I was so into it. Fucking cool.

California came on after them, and they were okay. I knew their stuff too so Terry gave me the mic a few times.

Bayside were absolutely incredible. Enough said.

I caught one of Anthony's picks at the end, great way to cap off the night.

What is the story behind these shows? Why all the rare songs?

sundaysetsashes
06/15/09, 11:26 AM
im presuming since they arent on a label and arent on tour for a specific album that they decided to do whatever they want. when anthony came on stage saturday he said, 'i guess you guys know that we're doing things a little different tonight.' and then went on about how they havent been really able to play what they want to in a long time. on a completely unrelated note, i was talking to nick at their merch table and he said they were happy to do these shows because they can play alot longer than what theyve been playing. it was prob the best show ive ever been to, simply because they played for such a long set.

prob cause they made their bread and butter off of the previous 3 albums and toured that cd already. they havent played over half the songs theyve been playing in prob 4 - 5 years

Yea I like Sirens but I just think that WW and Shudder are better. The self titled is my favorite though.

Could Victory be forcing bands to play certain setlists?

That sounds awful, but it would explain why Bayside has played the same setlist for the last 3 years, ie, the same 8 "old songs" and then 3 current-album songs. I've always felt the band never plays enough new material live.

The plot thickens.......

these were fan request shows, apperently they had somthing on myspace about it and had fans choose the sets for these couple of shows, as they said they'd probably retiring some of them soon, so they wanted to get a chance to play some of them, they said "you guys are some of the first, and probably the last to hear some of these songs"

Honestly, I would've been annoyed that they played "Duality", "Walking Wounded" and "Unicorns". I haven't heard them not play any of those since the album's release and would've much preferred more Sirens or Split stuff.

i don't know much about victory, really (outside of rumors, anyway), but i don't know of any other current labels that have as questionable a reputation when it comes to how they treat artists. i hope it's not, but what a shitty situation if this is the case.
