my guess is that people my age or older will vote Green Day, and the younger lads will choose Blink. I have to choose Green Day since Dookie and Nimrod always bring back memories of my childhood.

If I had a nickle for every time I heard, "Without blink, _________ wouldn't exist." Seriously, Green Day was doing pop-punk before blink and did it better. Without them, blink wouldn't exist.

I was 9 when I first heard Green Day...LOVED THEM...still do...but when I first heard Blink at age 12 (Dammit), I REALLY loved them, and to this day I hear a clear difference between the two. They're both amazing, but in my opinion, blink write better songs, green day plays better live. Blink is the reason I play guitar and write/record music, so I went with Blink.

Honestly, old Green Day, but I imagine most people here will be for blink 182.

Dookie and Insomniac are both better than anything blink has ever done, although I must admit Enema and Self Titled both came pretty damn close.

So then Blink doesn't have any disappointments? The question is one sided is all I'm saying. It's kind of "only think of the 'good' Green Day material when you vote".

I was under the impression that most people recognized Blink not for first doing pop/punk but for making it more popular/mainstream. I think in the late 90's they did more to popularize it than any of the bands you listed. Course I think when it comes down to it, it was a cumulative result, but blink did the most.

oh come on you're really gonna stoop down and use the sell-out argument? That isn't what this is about. However blink did it, they were the ones that really popularized the genre and made it possible for so many pop/punk bands to exist today. That's the point. Some would call that a bad thing, many wouldn't whatever.
