Bands who contacted me about ABSOLUTExclusives: Please be patient as I consider all those interested, but be aware that we are only choosing from those records coming out this year that we know to be highly anticipated. I really do appreciate your interest though, and as we improve our Artist Profiles we will eventually be able to get all of your songs up.
What I listened to tonight:
Matchbook Romance (http://www.purevolume.com/matchbookromance) - Voices
~This will be one of the most original and unoriginal records of the year, but despite contradictions, it sounds super. Review coming soon.
The Used (http://www.purevolume.com/theused) - Self Titled
~God Damn... what a soliddd record. Few bands ever took this sound and had every aspect align like The Used did on their debut. Remember the hype? Man we obsessed over this record for a while and with freakin good cause. "Poetic Tragedy"? Please........ masterful!
That's all I got really... I won't bore you with any musical theatre shit. Dazed and Confused is a good movie though. Good luck this week... here comes February!

The first CD had so much aggression on it, which in my opinion is what made it so good. But Kelly Osborne started fucking Bert, so he got happy. They've even said straight up, the new record isn't as heavy as the first one. Something tells me The first one will be a classic, and everything else from them will be mediocre. Bert, prove me wrong.

You're sexy!
Good recs, i think i might rock that Used album today i totally forgot how good it was. Oh and Voices really is good and to tell you the truth i'm not surprised, i liked Stories & Alibis when it came out and i knew they had something like this in them.
Rock it like it's hot!

i agree with you on The Used. The debut is fucking great. And I'll admit I love the second one, too.

I don't like MBR but I'm interested in hearing Voices
definitely agree on the matchbook romance thoughts...there will be haters and lovers of the disc...kinda falls in the category of face to face with their "ignorance is bliss" record...how people unfamiliar with their previous records loved it and those familiar with them hated it....but honestly its steering them away from the overbred screamo scene into a change of scenery...good stuff.

i love both records, but the first one caught me at a really odd time in my life, so it was perfect. i love everything about s/t.
