Hopesfall's (http://www.hopesfall.com) video for "Breathe From Coma" should be surfacing within the next couple weeks. The band is currently taking a break from touring to put all their time into a new album.

I totally agree.

its because a-types sounded like every other shitty band in that genre (i.e. silverstein, hawthorne heights). the older albums were a little more original. he shouldnt sing anymore.

i've totally given up on this band. i'm all for growing and progressing, but a-types lost everything that made hopesfall interesting to begin with. i'm sure their next album will be another incubus inspired snoozefest

not true at all. maybe it's just because you are too primitive to tell the difference between a-types and Hawthorne Heights. but they weren't even close. a-types was a great album, period.

A Types did not sit well with me (there some good moments but it left me wanting more)...also I have high expectations from a band that put out the No Wings To Speak Of ep. That ep is better than most other full lengths released in that genre.

"End Of An Era" will not ever be topped by them...its just a perfect mix of heavy parts and melodic parts. Great song.

"End of an Era" is a perfect song. It's been five years, and hundreds of listens, since i first heard it, and it still gives me chills. Absolutely beautiful.

i think satellite years hopesfall is the best so far.

examples of releases from bands that were more melodic AND shittier than their previous releases:

hopesfall - atypes
underoath - they're only chasing safety
the bled - found in the flood

examples of releases from bands that were more melodic but still awesome:

dillinger escape plan - miss machine
blood brothers - crimes

just because a band puts out something that is a little more poppier than their previous material doesn't necessarily make it bad. that's a common misconception among heavier music. unfortunately, hopesfall's a-types is not an example of this. it was lame.

I thought a types was amazing. i thought satellite years was a step back from the e.p. but they really added a whole level of melody to their release. I don't see how you can put them in the same category as hawthorne heights and silverstein.

A-Types has nothing to do with Silverstein and hawthorne.
I agree that it was a let down if you compare it to their previous releases.

BUT

If you listen closely to the sound, especially coming from the guitars, of A-Types, you'll hear a totally different album.

Why ?

A-TYPES IS SO BADLY MIXED !
The guitar melodies that made hopesfall famous for were TOTALLY BURIED. This is what gives the impression of a poppier, lamer sound. This is where it all comes down when you choose a producer. This album could have been much more respected...
The drums could have been recorded a bit better too...the vocals worked a notch up, and varied.
Oh well...

YES!!! Finally, I see A Types getting a little bit of love from somebody. They are a great band and I cannot wait for their next release.

Not only is the music good, but the artwork is the best fucking thing about them. That artwork on everything they have realeased has been sick and I think it's the best I've ever seen.

Because it wasn't freaking HOPESFALL. At least not the Hopesfall that I know and love. I think it was a great album, but not for them, not after the standard they set. I can understand growing and evolving in a band, but they completely jumped tracks and shifted gears. When I listen to it I have to try to forget they're playing it. It didn't even sound right live.
