im for marvel....only good dc movie has been batman begins and superman returns looks ok (i know dc hasnt had many) but x-men1and2 were entertaining...spider-man1and2 were entertaining and i liked the hulk .....and am hoping for them to make a sequal to the punisher cause they ran out of money and time on the first one thats why its shitty. me =nerd

gotta love spiderman
the latest spider-man story arc is one of the most pisspoor things i have ever read in my life. and brian bendis has done an incredible job of ruining everything that made spider-man great in the ultimate series.

First off Carlo, I highly doubt they are referring to comics even really. Mainly movies it appears from the thread. However, right now, yeah, DC owns Marvel, mainly for all of the stuff that Vertigo is churning out, which is all badass. However, Marvel has a lot of promising stuff out there, or at least interesting, from Marvel Zombies, to X-Factor (Madrox kicked ass you must admit) and Son of M.

i've been reading marvel zombies mainly because kirkman is writing it, and he's my favorite writer at the moment. hell, i even picked up the latest issue of ultimate x-men because kirkman is writing the phoenix rising story arc.
ultimate extinction and ultimate wolverine vs. hulk have been really good. but you're right about dc and vertigo, right now nobody comes close. not with vertigo putting out fables, y: the last man, loveless, and 100 bullets. and the dc infinite crisis storyline has been great thus far.
it's just too bad that they're having a dc/marvel movie discussion when the books that these movies are based on are so much better.

i'd have to say, even though i love the X-men movies and Blade movies, i'd have to go with DC. because of Batman, superman. and 2 of my favorite comic book movies Sin City and Constantine.

Marvel - only because they had that awesome "Overpower" card game 10 years ago.

sin city was actually a dark horse book, not marvel or dc.

Maybe it's because they wasted their money on a shitty Scientologist to play the villain..

so tru. Daredevil is my favorite superhero and all(despite the almost schumacher(sp?)movie),
but my hat is deffinitly off to DC if it wasn't for them there would be no marvel
p.s. I miss golden age comics

Marvel in a land slide and let me tell you why....
Joe Madueria - The Uncanny X-men issues 330-350 or so(i dont actually know the exact number, those are actually prob way off)
Especially 337- the post-onslaught breakfast for the x-men gang
Best artist the x-men ever had

The original X-men run guy?
I agree cause he had a timeless style
I just really like Mauderia's slightly Manga-nized take on the x-men - though he always drew Beast about the size of a tank bothered me
Lee's Batman's were awesome but that's CD and I dont delve into that

I know this is more the spandex set, but is anyone excited about Madeuira and Loeb's next run of Ultimates? I think it's going to kick ass. Plus Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men should be interesting at least, even though UX is nowhere near the most interesting X-Universe comic (X-Factor, Astonishing X-Men, Son of M - Seriously Carlo, if you didn't read Son of M, read it, I don't know why I loved it so much).

I'd vote Marvel simply because I used to be a HUGE X-Men addict, and my obsessions with Batman never quite equalled my love of Xavier and Co.
Movie wise: Marvel has the edge. Both have put of their own fair share of bombs, but Marvel hits gold far more often.
And on Superman: Christopher Reeve RIP. He will ALWAYS be Superman in my book, no matter how many people take on the role later.

I liked ideas of House of M, but the overall series was not as good as it should have been. Too long a series for so few ideas, had too many plot holes, and mutants losing powers? That just annoyed me.

long story short, a vampire beats the shit out of spider man, tries to kill mary jane, spider man goes bonkers and "dies", goes into a cocoon, and comes out even stronger.

and who thinks capcom should make the game marvel vs dc.....in the vien of marvel vs capcom 2..would be amazing...eh?
that has potential for serious awesomeness.
but rumor has it that capcom and sammy (company that makes guilty gear) are working on a team up fighting game on sammy's arcade hardware. That means all the intense action from previous vs. games all done in the hand drawn anime style of guilty gear.
