Packer fans better hope McCarthy's QB background makes the most out of Aaron Rodgers or it's gonna be another long year.

I'm not a Packers fan, but I really hope he comes back...won't be right without the obligatory Favre press conference on every channel

It's sad to see one of the game's all time greats leave, but it's probably for the best. The Packers are going no where anytime soon, and Farve shouldn't be at the helms of a rebuilding team at this point in his career. He's accomplished everything a great QB should.

If this is it, I just wanna thank Brett for being so fun to watch over the years and playing the game is was MEANT to be played. He's the perfect role model for young players looking for someone to emulate.

yep exactly...the guy will go down as one of the best to ever play the game.

Jim Bates leaving hurts the team more. They should be down on their knees kissing Bates's feet and begging him to come back. Honestly, as a Packers fan I want Favre to play on another team this year and have a chance to win.

Key word leaning, He didn't say no yet. You know when the Season starts he will get the competitive juices flowing and he will come back and want to play.

I have alot of respect for that man... It's time for him to go. The only way I could see him staying, would be completely as a mentor to Aaron Rodgers.

the team isnt going to let him wait that long and hes not a player thats going to come back after he retires. as a huge packer fan, its just not one of those things you think about, #4 not being your quarterback. But I didnt see a 4-12 record coming this year, nor Sherman getting fired, etc.. its going to be very strange to watch if and when he retires.

and yeah this year wasnt so great but put any QB in the nfl with their third string (we went through 5 running backs this year) and im pretty sure you're going to have a year like that. The defense is going to suck without Bates, he took marginal players and put them among the top 10 defenses in the NFL
