Scarlet (http://www.scarletcult.com/) recently got into a van accident, an update from the band is below:
"Hello everyone:
Yesterday, being Wednesday January 25, 2006, we were involved in a terrible van wreck. We were driving as normal as can be when all of a sudden, the rear left wheel of our van decided to take a vacation. Our van drifted violently from side to side, it scraped the middle guardrail and then shot all the way to the outside edge of the southbound highway, and then finally made a huge horseshoe movement all the way from there, to the inside edge of the northbound highway. Our vacated tire followed us in flames. We did not flip the van because our trailer was kind enough to snap off and take all the flipping duties upon itself.

As we exited the van, we walked 30 feet to where our trailer rested. There, our eyes were greeted by a fine definition of irony. Amongst the two wrecked machines, and the little brush fires our flaming wheel started, a few copies of our new record littered the grass. "This was always meant to fall apart" was everywhere, and we all could not help but laugh.

As all the events began to calm down, we ultimately were able to receive a ride to our destination that night and went on with the show. Our thanks go entirely to the great bunch of guys that is the Esoteric and their incredible tour manager Mean Dean. We owe them big time. We also wanted to whole heartedly thank the fine people of Kansas City, MO that came out to show, kindly gave us donations, and overall gave us a few hours to forget what had just happened to us.

Right now we are stranded in Lawrence, MO awaiting our new transportation. We hope to continue the tour, hopefully by the Reno date. We apologize for the shows we will miss, but assure you all that they will still be, without a doubt, amazing shows. We are working diligently to return. We are all still alive."

oh sure he does. I think he just hated this year more.

The Esoteric's house burned down. I don't know where else to go with that.

Either these accidents were never reported on before or there is an epidemic going on. I'm glad the guys are doing alright!

Any word on if the giant light-up SCARLET sign made it out unscathed?
