I am new here and figured this would be a good place to make some friends.
But honestly what are your views on George Dubya Bush?

Bush's likeability is tough. In comparison to our two other choices in the previous elections there's obviously alot to like about him....but as a stand alone figure there's very little to actually like. So I’m kind of in the middle. I’m happy that he’s president instead of (the insane) Gore or (the weak) Kerry, but I’m unhappy with the fact he’s governed like a neocon (or more appropriately a democrat with a gun)….personally if we are going to have a "BIG GOVERNMENT" type leader i would have preffered Lieberman, but with the DNC controled by the extreme left that is still probably unlikely.
But hey maybe we could get him and Zell together for the night and work out another party switch...

i voted for the "no he's a illiterate moron" one. because i have a sincere hatred for the man
but i kinda didn't want to pick that one because you didn't put "an"
it's all good in the hood though

...except that would be even worse. Don't get me wrong, I dislike Bush and everything he stands for, but he's got us too far involved in Iraq to just get everyone out at this point.

That is why he said that bush will push it off on the next president to get the people out. i can't stand bush personally. for one, we should have never gone into iraq. i believe that the 9-11 attack gave bush an open door to move in on saddam. make the american public think that he was part of it, when there was no apparent evidence of it. and by saying that he didn't know where bin laden was and really didn't care, and bin laden was the man behind the attack, what a crock of shit that bush didn't care. he should have cared more, and attacked afghanistan and worked on finding bin laden.

in my own little stereotyped world i saw reagan as a likeable grandfather figure who gives you more advice than anything else. Clinton as the kind of guy i wanted to go out with on the weekends. And Bush as a friend you'd call up and he'd do anything for you, and you'd call him up just to hang out.

sometimes a person who is up for doing "anything" and adamantly sticking to it is not good for society.
definitely not good for a president.
I don't think that him being so hard-headed on issues makes him a good president.

bush sucks! we knew Katrina was going to happen SEVEN YEARS before it did! and iraq?! he never should have sent people over there! and i just couldnt believe this..bush knew about 9-11! the goverment tapped phone lines and they heard it directly from the people! he could haved saved so many lives. I dont get why somebody hasnt assasinated him yet! hes just all about money and not about people. Kanye West was right when he said that bush didnt care about african americans. I think im right when I say that bush doesnt care about anybody except for upper class americans.

Cal, if you don't mind sharing, I would like to know your political stance (Dem. or Rep.) because I have noticed your signature before and forgot to ask. Also, is Gingrich even running in the 08' Election? I believe he is Rep. right?

honestly, i dont fully like Bush either
but what i REALLY hate are people that have no idea what they are talking about
all the power to you if you have opinions based on actual facts and truths... but arguing based on repetitious propaganda and things you read is just stupid
he never, ever said saddam was a part of 9-11. get your facts right
people ARE looking for bin laden. get your facts right
however it IS true that bush said he didn't know where bin laden was and didnt care
....not.
where the hell are you coming up with this?
youre just another mouthpiece for the liberal media, spouting crap off that you read without actually trying to learn about it.

I think im right when I say that bush doesnt care about anybody except for upper class americans. You are a complete moron. I was going to disprove all your points, but then my computer locked up and I don't want to do it again. I'll just do the major one:
The wire tapping was started as a result of 9-11. We didn't do it beforehand, and, although there was evidence, both Bush, Clinton, and all the federal agencies involved did not think that something like that could happen in America. Hindsight is always better.
You're a moron.
ill finish up for you
to repeat: you, my friend, are another moron, such as the wonderful man quoted further above
if anyone was to blame for being unprepared, it would have to be the clinton administration. Bush wasn't in office long enough to have any kind of impact regarding security
kanye west is an idiot. hes amazingly talented musically, dont get me wrong, but using his word to back up political arguement makes you seem just as ignorant as him.
bush doesnt control fema. pointing blame at someone like that after such a tradgedy is childish and stupid.
instead of bitching about how bush hates black people and it's all his fault... why didnt you go down there and help yourself? i bet you didnt even get off your lazy ass and make any sort of donation.
and... yea im done.

but i'm not.
george bush is a great president. he's making good decisions, yes, some bad i agree. but EVERYONE is going to make mistakes. and the fact that everyone seems to take his speech impediment and ridicule it to death is pathetic.
to those that do not like the president, do us all a favor and stop complaining. he's there til 2008, like it or not, so get used to it.

my opinions on bush have varied over the years. but as a liberal i will attempt to give him every benefit of the doubt. i won't even talk about the 100+ republican staffers that stormed into the 2000 florida recount and made a scene, demanding it be halted.
he gets into office and is hit with a recession. bad for a first term president, as people often like to hold current adminstrations liable for economic downturns rather than prior administrations. then he gets 9/11, and i say he gets it because it was a literal gift for his approval rating. marches into afghanistan, succeeds there, and while our projected budget surplus for 2010 had dwindled from a high of 1.2 trillion in 2000, we were still in good shape. then, iraq. hate it or love it, overcommittal in the war literally destroyed any promise of substantial economic rebound after the recession. its easy to monday morning quarterback policy, of course, but economics require both hindsight and foresight. he fucked it up with troop overcommittal.
in my honest opinion, the war in iraq gave bush the best shot to win reelection in 2004. give conservatives a reason to call him a wartime president, and the entire country immediately considers that it's unnecessary to replace him. maybe he was looking to jumpstart the economy...but wartime economies don't rebound the way they used to (see US 1942). too much outsourcing and globalization these days, that we won't be the only ones that see the results of mobilization.
