I know we've had a few posts like these lately, but they're all true, and here's another: Sherwood (http://www.sherwoodmusic.net)'s a free agent and has the majors and one of the biggest indie labels chasing after them like you wouldn't believe.

Rarely does their style of music really wow me anymore these days, but Sherwood is the real deal. I saw them live before I was a big fan of them and I was completely blown away. Real nice guys too. A total class act if you ask me.

SideCho is a sister label to The Militia Group (the way it was explained to me). So if they wanted Sherwood for TMG, I don't think they'd have to go through the same channels as everyone else.
I agree they'd be great for the label, but personally I doubt it will happen. Especially since they have majors after them. They're about ready to break big, and I think they need a label that's a bit heavier with the distro (unless they can sign a distro deal with a major).

well sidecho isn't a "Sister label" so to speak but they do have close ties to TMG and there has definitely been that history of bands working with both ie Anadivine and The Beautiful Mistake. i would love to see them go to TMG and would not love to see them go to the nail

Awesome, they're such great guys. I've never actually gotten to see them play but I hung out with them all (minus Nate, thus the reason they couldn't play) after Warped Tour a few years back.

I think they would fit well with TMG, but since majors are looking at them... Whoever they sign to better market them.

They've got a lot ahead of them.

sherwood=greatness.
i'd much rather see them sign big label...they seem like the kind of band that would hit big in a brand new kind of way...big on the scene and not so big in the mainstream world of 12 year old music. that's what i'd like to see for these guys.

Although it's already been stated that Sidecho has close ties to TMG, has anyone else noticed that Sherwood lists TMG in it's "links" portion of their website? Is this new?

Actually the Milita Group and Sidecho aren't sister labels. They just shared the same office which they no longer do.
