So my band played our first show last night, and we used our instruments for most of our songs, but some songs we have, we just sing over created beats we made in fruity loops. we couldnt play them though because we dont have a cable to hook the laptop up to the speakers in the venue. we assumed the venue would have one, but they had no idea what we were talking about. can anyone point me in the right direction to where I can get this cable from?

XLR to XLR and use a XLR to 1/4" or 1/8" converter to play it out of your speakers. I am pretty sure that would work.

thank you! that helps alot.

so would i be able to use just a regular microphone cable, and then get this converter: http://sewelldirect.com/xlr-to-1-4-in-male-adapter-planet-waves_specs.asp?source=froogle&utm_source=Froogle&utm_medium=cse

You need a stereo DI box, a cable to plug your computer's output into the DI's input, and two XLR cables to go into the venue's snake/mixer. The venue should have the XLRs.

Or just make songs without the beats.

just get an standard a/v cable, and use a converter plug, that way you can connect it to the PA, that's what we do for our beginning sample track
