which vegetable(s) do you think is the most delicious?
i kinda cheated because i put vegetables that are part of the same family (i.e. onion/leek)

it's in alphabetical order for your convenience!
i forgot some vegetables but hopefully i got the majority of what people like.

for me, it would be corn, cucumber, leek, lettuce, onion, potato, and tomato

I like a lot of the vegetables that you listed. I also would say that fruits are better than vegetables.

tomatoes can be considered a fruit or a vegetable depending on the way you look at it. i just put it in the list because i wanted to.

Potatoes, if they're vegetables, are my favorite. Fruits blow any vegetable out of the water though.

I'm pretty sure that's not how plant taxonomy works.

You're right, an apple is not a fruit, it is a tree because it's attached to a tree!!!

Do we not eat grains? Corn grows on a stalk, like an apple grows on a tree, but the thing we eat, the ear, is a grain, not a fruit. If you disagree, you can take it up with wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maize), that's where I'm getting this from.

yeah, a tomato does not change depending on how you look at it. it is a berry in the nightshade family, and thereby a fruit. although people do tend to treat it like a savory item and is therefore more associated with veggies.

also, avocado is a fruit as well, but it is hardly ever treated/prepared like a fruit.

sorry not to get nit-picky this is an awesome poll, i love all these

Although wikipedia is not a good source, you can look at the physiology section on that page, specifically the seed part. each corn is a individual fruit - botanically speaking. It has the endosperm and everything else a fruit has and will grow into a plant when planted into the ground.

Well they refer to each kernel as a grain in the very next sentence, so that's hardly conclusive. I did some research, and this seems to be a highly debatable topic. The best source I found (http://www.extension.org/faq/17275) was an article from the University of Illinois, who I trust on this topic because A) I go there, and B) they (or we?) have one of the best agriculture programs in the world. They claimed that corn could be considered all three: a grain, a vegetable, and a fruit. Whatever.

I love potatoes, but I also picked garlic. Honestly, I'm more of a veggie juice person since I'm very very unhealthy in regard to what I eat.
