Who cares if they are in conjunction with Walmart?

Seriously, you guys keep making a big deal out of nothing.

I agree. I would like to see other people in the same situation. You have the chance to do a performance knowing a bunch of people will see it, wouldnt you do it?

With regards to this performance, I would like to paraphrase a question that the Great Tate asked:
What's the point of having a violinist in the band if you are going to play with an orchestra?

These guys are trying to make as much cash as possible. First the Virgin Mobile crap now Wal-Mart. What's next? "Bill Gates buys Yellowcard"

Idk, I liked it. City of Devils, Down on my Head, and L&S were pretty good. Walmart should stop trying to save us money on all the sh*t they sell, because it'd be better spent doing things like this. I think it was produced pretty well and the hi-qual was pretty damn clear.

Think for a minute from the perspective of Sean...

You've blown any potential career as a world class orchestra violinist by running off to play in a rock band. Your skillset of running around with a violin while singing and doing backflips simply isn't valued by major metropolitan symphony orchestras. You can, however, develop yourself professionally as a composer and conductor. These are skills that could be employed by hundreds of pop and classical artists for years to come.

Also, as far as the band itself goes, most people think your violin is a gimmick. So you push it back, allow your band to develop a full sound that is less gimmicky and distracting.

They no longer have just a violinist in the band; they have a classical composer who plays violin.

haha fuck yeah...i fuckin love walmart, and i think they sound fuckin amazing and capitol records is a great record label who have released some fuckin amazing artists one of them being jimmy eat world...clarity, static...etc. and they have great people at that label who love their bands. the only thing i did not like, was probably the walmart host hehe, and that the stream kept buffering, good job boys

Of course they don't sound bad, Yellowcard is AMAZING acoustic. You should download some of their acoustic versions of songs like Ocean Avenue (they'll probably be in crappy quality if you can find them at all). I really think Yellowcard needs to put out an album of all their back catalog acoustic songs and maybe some new ones.

It is kind of funny that they are on Walmart.... but you'd probably play for Walmart too if you had the chance

But i dont think anyone with any credibility would hire a backflipping conductor to head up their orchestra. He doesn't have shit on John Williams.

Haha, well...

It's not so much that I hate them, but their level of promotion just seems kind of retarded, almost as if they're trrying too hard to promote the album and it seems to be kind of kicking themselves in the ass.

don't you think it's a little early to say that it's kicking themselves in the asses...? the album has been out for a week and debuted at #5. why don't we let the marketing executives at capital stick to what they're good at and decide how to promote the album. i'm just gonna go out on a crazy limb and say that i bet they know a little better about what works and what doesn't than you do.

Hey, you don't have to get all your panties in a bunch about things. I was just stating my opinion. Granted it hasn't been out that long, but their video has been out for a while and hasn't gotten much attention on MTV or anything. I don't know, I guess it's just weird for me to see one of my favorite bands on Virgin mobile commercials and getting played on Walmart's website.

It's stupid how people can't state their opinions anymore without being attacked.

haha...attacking is one thing, showing you that your opinion is stupid is another. this is a message board, not the knights of the fucking round table. when you speak up on a message board, be ready to get a reponse, bad or good. if it's not what you wanted to hear, then find something else to do with your time.

while yellowcard seems to be going down the drains... that acoustic version of ocean avenue is pretty stellar.
