Tonight on American Idol auditions in Las Vegas, a boy came and made it to the final audition with Simon, Paula and Randy and sang the song "Smashed Into Pieces" by Silverstein (www.silversteinmusic.com). Of course he was eliminated right away but it was pretty interesting.

hahahah i've seen a couple people pull off a scream on american idol this season. one kid with an mcr shirt. just a bunch of really funny stuff, but it makes me wonder if they're serious or just being ironic. if it's the latter, that's awesome.

It was priceless. My gf was watching the show and I saw this guy come on and I was like about time we get a screamer on here. He wasnt very good but its the first time I have heard anyone do a song from our scene.

That's true. I finally watched it, twice. And the guy's voice is kind of good but I don't like his attitude about being hardcore and the way he asked the judge's name like she was a child and he pretty much already knew her name.
The guy was AWFUL. It sounded like he was trying to be a velociraptor, or at least what I imagine them sounding like.
The way you can tell he´s not doing it as a joke is he looks insanely uncomfortable the whole time. Oh and his screaming sounds a whole lot like a velociraptor.

so many people think that our scene should be on american idol. keep it off of there for as long as humanly possible. Not just because it's mine and I want to protect it, but because so many of the vocalists we love, are subpar as vocalists. the reason so many of these people sing Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc, is because they are amazing talents, regardless of drug issues. If someone sang Copeland, they wouldn't hit a single strong note, and you won't survive off a pretty sounding air voice. I'd prefer to not be embarrassed when some jackass wants to get on TV and butchers a good song (this, however, was a shitty song by an even shittier band). Even a voice as original as Daryl Palumbo's wouldn't hold up.
