they're the 8th seed right now. and i dont see anyone taking them out of that spot. they're 7 and 3 in their last 10.

chris paul has came in and made himself the leader of that team.

david west has double his rpg and nearly tripled his ppg this season, and in my opinion could easily win most improved player of the year.

the addition of desmond mason, and the leadership of pj brown is a big factor too. jr smith has been a dud, and will be shipped out in the next couple of weeks.

speedy claxton, kirk snyder, and nachbar have all had good seasons as well. now with the addition of hunter, i dont see anyone beating them out for the final spot. they wont make it past the first round, but this is a team that was projected to win only 15 games this year and they're playing .500 ball. if they can get a good mid first round pick next season, and add a good presence down low. i think the hornets could be a top team in the west.

Okur is ugly jump shooter that is getting better at standing his ground in the paint. they're undermanned and simply can't compete. i did have them in my 8-spot for the same reason though: Jerry Sloan. he's doing some great things. maybe an midseason move, or Boozer can give them what they need, but until than, it's NOK. great story. id be really happy to see them in the postseason
