i wonder that too, only about "indie rock" singers rather than "scene" singers. people like jenny lewis, amy millan, kianna alarid, ben gibbard, etc. i know not a lot of musicians i listen actually have great voices (no matter how much i may love their voices), but i think those people are among some of the ones that really do.
