What is your feelings on punk music (emo, hardcore ...etc.) going mainstream ...

if you are wondering why i've asked ... I'm trying to get into this english workshop for the summer at my college and i have to write on a subject to can be used for open discussion on the first day ... and i need some help ... i need different views on the subject and i just got back from interviewing people on the street and trust me you don't want to know the results of that disaster ... thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you take the time to voice a little something

yeah i was so happy some one made a screw up, but you had to ruin it for me =/.


i don't care if it goes mainstream as long as the music and the bands don't change then im happy.

well its sort of cool to like punk now. you know, good charlotte, simple plan, and all the new wave emo. but i got into punk not because it was popular or a fad, i got into it because i loved it just for the music. and yes when it fades i will still like it.

what is it that is so appealing to you about your favorite bands and or your favorite type of music?

the most appealing thing about bands to me is their live shows and if "punk" bands go mainstream then going to small venues will not be possible and see my favorite bands with 250 other people is one of the best things

i have a naturally rebellious spirit and deep love for music... so it grew on me easily, most of the bands i listen to, i can relate too

punk never went mainstream, "punk" bands on mtv are just pop bands with guitars and spikes. and if they want to be on mtv, that's fine, they just shouldn't call it punk.
and, yes i will still listen to punk when it goes out of style seeing as how the stuff i like isn't really that "hip" to begin with.

they say that music is a reflection of self .... what do you think the music you listen to says about you? ( list a coupple of your fav bands so i can but it in a genre)
