now, to add a valid rebuttal other than character attacks. it takes serious talent to scream well. that's why there are good screamers and bad screamers. i've been screaming/using death metal vox for 5 years, and there's things I hear that blow my mind. and yes, there are bad screamers. just like there are bad guitarists. the role of a screamer is much amplified live - where a good screamer can bring an amazing amount of energy to a song. screaming live is extremely difficult. it is very physically demanding, more so than any member of the band. and these guys do it almost every night. also, any "singing" should be a release of emotion. emotion is what drives good music. music is unique as an art form in the way that it conjures up emotional responses.

now, not enjoying screaming is cool. i can understand that! but thinking that someone's opinion is less valid because, holy shit, they listen to bands that scream is completely retarded. you know, kinda like you.

don't hate me for this, but i was in hot topic two days ago, looking through CDs with some of my friends and they were about to listen to the album, they like bc! i ran to tdwp and bought plagues, ran out with them, and told them never to listen to that album.

chiodos is fucking great.... bmth=bring me the horizon.... they used to sound somewhat like suicide silence, and they sound pretty original now (as far as metalcore can get original) however, they used to breakdown a lot, and now they have less noticeable breakdowns. Diamonds Aren't Forever, It Was Written In Blood, and For Stevie Wonder's Eyes Only (Braille) are their best songs.

so i'm not the only one. I'm glad.... attack attack! is fine by me. But I just can't get past Breathe Carolina. There's just something about them that just makes me despise their sound. Usually people say I jump on every bandwagon (which in some cases is partially true) but they just annoy me.


Also, it's absolutely an insult to any genre when you have to use garage band loops and can't come up with something original. People bash on bands like Catherine, TDWP, and Norma Jean when some of their songs sound similar, and blame it on lack of originality. But they add something different somehow. And actually write original music. Norma Jean with their controlled chaos, Catherine with their (or past) rhythms and somewhat original beats. TDWP with their amazing singers..... not just the same crap that you've heard before from every "myspace flavor of the weak"

Yeah why do you think Blink 182 is so well liked? Some of their lyrics are awful but they're fun so we love them anyway.

But the difference is simple:

Reading through everyone's comment before me, I'm apalled at everyone flat out stating that Brokencyde sucks, has no musical talent, and even get's into specifics about what THEY don't like about them.
As is all music, brokencyde is subjective from one person to another.
You can't speak for anyone but yourself in saying you don't like them.
I don't like everything they do, but I am proud to call myself a fan.
I am 17, and have proper roots and understanding in music.
Listening to LP's as a toddler in my basement with my dad.
Meatloaf, Led Zeppelin, T. Rex, The Beatles, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, Kiss and the list goes on.
I have 27,000 songs in my itunes, ranging from every genre and I can find something to like about everything.

I don't think Brokencyde is meant to be considered seriously at all. They're doing it to have fun, and they like what they do.
Not everything comes out great that they do, but they're experimenting.
Don't think of them in the same category as anything else you've listed to.
They're not Punk.
Metal
Metalcore.
Screamo
rap
deathcore
anything like that..
the aren't even really crunk.
Once you get passed that you can maybe like them, if you're into that sort of thing.
But enough with the hate..
