Mike Martz wants a 3 year contract at 1.5 million per year. and of course the lions a.k.a. William Clay Ford doesn't want to shovel out that so very expensive price.
If we can get mike martz, and he's healthy, why wouldn't we? Who are we holding out for? Another position coach. hey maybe mike singletary can come and run the offense, that makes as much sense as not getting Mike Martz.
when the fuck do the tigers report for spring training, again?

that's head coach money for an offensive coordinator...i see no problem not paying a guy that much

there's no salary cap on the money coaches make. and with an offense that's as bad as we are, why don't we pull the trigger? We're wasting more money on coke heads with ego problems.
besides, i think that's less money than the Redskins gave their new offensive coordinator. I could be wrong though. I mean, who needs someone that actually would like to throw the ball down field or across the middle. or maybe get the actual potential out of roy williams, mike williams, charles rogers, and kevin jones.

with those three recievers mike martz would probably cum in his pants daily.

to be honest, the recievers are overrated.

I really never understood those draft picks. What was the reaction in Detroit when the 3rd one was chosen?

Martz would have got 4000 yards and 25 TDs from the QB if he went there. Not sure if they would have been that much better still, it is Detroit after all.

because there's a limit in the owners head. would martz be twice as good as any O coordinator out there? probably not. so why not find a talent for half the money. i know the economics make you want to get the guy who's an established offensive guy...but he's flawed as an O guy too. Why isn't Stephen Jackson more famous by now? Martz isn't worth that cash, you can get his talent in college for a third the cost and a third the problems. Don't sweat it, your a few years out, but the Lions will get there, and be better off with out Mike Martz.

um, no. I was pumped about getting him, but that's not remotely possible without overhauling the entire offensive unit.

we'll have 10 losses most likely, with or without him.
but marinelli has two years to get to 8-8.

he'd better be well on his way to the playoffs in two years or AX

and these college coordinators would be? Who is better than martz? i'm sorry, but i'm failing to see these guys. maybe the better o-coordinators are position coaches or something, you know, like our head coach was.
but you're right, william clay ford doesn't see this as a football team, just a means of packing 75,000 people into one place while giving him more money. he's the reason that we left the silverdome as soon as we did. so he could build this stadium and reap all the financial benefits of a state that supports fielding shitty teams year in, year out.

He better. If he's not 8-8 by the end of the next 2 seasons he should be fired.
If he doesn't take a qb at some point in the draft, he should be fired.
and if he takes another wide reciever with any of his first 3 picks, he should be fired.
we should have talked to jim fassel.

No way, Martz has been fairly successful in the NFL. He gets a bad rep too much.
