Sherwood (www.sherwoodmusic.net) has posted an update on their website regarding their upcoming tour with Waking Ashland and the rumors about their label situation posted here on AP.net.
Hey Everyone,
We are happy to bring you some of the latest news and updates. We shot a video last weekend in Los Angeles. It should be on our myspace page within the next two weeks or so. We made a quick performance video to the opening track “We Do This To Ourselves”. We are excited about the upcoming tour with Waking Ashland; we will be playing 9-10 songs from the album every night along with a brand new song.
I have been reading all the absolutepunk.net posts about the current label situation and it’s been rather entertaining. We are really excited about finding a new home for our next few records. We have been working ridiculously hard the last three years and it’s awesome to see that people are noticing what we have done thus far. Finding a home for our style and personality is very difficult because we must account for so many variables. The interest is continuing to grow and we as a band are mainly focusing on making a great record. We are writing new songs and know that they will be the same no matter what label we put them out on. We are always very careful about every decision we make so know that it will not be easy.
We hope to release a new record this year along with a documentary DVD. I will be spending the year making a film about our story and how difficult it is to survive in this industry. In my opinion, band DVD’s often fall very short of explaining all that being in a band entails. I often think Sherwood would be a great reality TV show; ironically we actually tour in the MTV Road Rules RV from Season 10 in Morocco.
Everyone please come out to the California shows next week and say goodbye to our good friend and guitar player Chris. We are sad to announce that these will be his last shows as he has decided to move along and go back to school. I could tell that it was very hard for him to make this decision after all that we have been through over the years. It’s not easy to do what we do but know that it was his decision and we are sad to see him go. We asked Lucas Star (ex-Terminal) to fill in for the rest of the tour. See you soon…
Love,
Nate/Sherwood
