MC Lars' (http://www.myspace.com/mclars) upcoming album, The Graduate features a song called "Signing Emo," and in that song, Absolutepunk.net gets a brief mention. Check the song out on his Myspace; it's funny shit. The album comes out March 21st on Horris Records (you can currently buy it on iTunes).

I'm not sure if this is a joke or not, but MC Lars is supposed to be all against generic bands and all that, yet he's currently on tour with Simple Plan and the lead singer of Bowling for Soup sings in one of of his new tracks.

I am calling sell out.

well, he just happens to be good friends with them. i don't like Bowling For Soup's music at all, but when LArs came through SC he let me hang out with them on the tour bus, and they were REALLY good guys. So I think it's a matter of THEM letting HIM tour with them. I mean, you have to get your name out somehow. There's more to this game than maintaining some sort of cred, which is part of the absurdity that Lars likes to poke fun at. I'm not going to forsake my friends just because they're popular, famous, or make different music.
