I wouldn't act any different. Obviously don't tell her she's fat or make jokes about anorexia or eating disorders. If you feel so concerned about it, you could straight up mention that you care about her, and if there's anything that she's sensitive to, she should let you know. Just be respectful and don't make it awkward :)

thread seems to have become stupid but, one of my closest friends dealt with anorexia in and out of hospital for 2 years, and i saw a lot of it, the lowest points and the best. its best to just pretend nothing happened, like still be carefull about what you say, no fat or skinny jokes or anything like that, but she wouldnt want you asking questions about it 24/7. she just wants to have a normal life and not feel like there is something wrong with her. but still be there for her if she wants to talk about it, just dont force her to tell you stuff because you are curious. but of course itll be awkward, she knows that and probably feels terrible about it, its your job as a friend to just make everything feel like normal again.

Trust me, I know the results of cancer. Two of my uncles have died from it, my grandma has been diagnosed with breast, kidney, and lung cancer over the past six years with many recurrences, and my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer a little less than three months ago. I have definitely witnessed the power of cancer and from what I've seen, I believe it is more powerful than annorexia. Not to mention, annorexia can be stopped. Cancer cannot.

People that haven't seen it happen to someone don't understand. No one is going to agree with you on the cancer thing unless they've seen it happen, then they might.

I do agree both are absolutely terrible. I'm not trying to cheapen the effects of cancer. My uncle had part of his skull removed from it, One of my closest friends died a few years ago and my dad had his eye cut out from it.
