100 Things You Like About Yourself.

At the beginning of the year, my friend suggested that I make a list of things I like about myself.
I'm posting it here because I really think other people should do the same. :)
Here it is!

1. I don't need alcohol to have a good time.
2. I'm a morning person.
3. I'm a good singer.
4. I know how to play the Bass Clarinet. And I'm decent at it.
5. I remember insignificant details.
6. I consider myself to be well-read and will almost always pick up a book instead of a magazine. I ALWAYS have a book with me. Always. And no, you can't borrow it for DEAR.
7. I actually like spending time with myself.
8. I can't procrastinate.
9. The world is constantly amazing me.
10. I don't need makeup to feel beautiful.
11. I am extremely organized and know where pretty much everything in my room is.
12. I would rather stay in than go out.
13. I know what I want to do with the rest of my life and set goals for myself.
14. I think about things. I'm cynical.
15. I still have the first toy I was ever given, and I plan to keep it with me until I die.
16. I live in constant fear of a lot of things, but death is not one of them.
17. I'm stubborn.
18. I'm flexible.
19. My opinions are constantly changing because of my open-mindedness.
20. I don't always do what others expect me to do.
21. I once won a game of Scrabble against my parents with the world 'vaginas.'
22. I can comfortably sleep on the floor. Thanks a lot, Whitehorse.

24. I understand that people don't always need to speak.
25. I'm a very good writer.
26. I live for the things that I know I'll never do.

37. I have the best friends in the world. I love that we're always there for each other, especially when we really need others around.
38. I have obsessive compulsive tendencies and am a perfectionist.
39. I believe that every living creature on this earth has as much right as I do to live.
40. I do word searches obsessively.
41. Celine Dion has made me late for school on more than one occasion.
42. Give me a little bit of time and I can pack the most intense suitcase you've ever seen.
43. I draw hilarious comics. Even thought I am HORRIBLE at art.
44. I could sit and watch people for hours. It's fun to imagine peoples' lives.
45. Nancy Drew computer games are just the greatest.
46. I take pride in my coupon booklets.
47. I love to analyze things, but I also realize that there are some things you shouldn't look into any deeper.
48. I've accepted that I'll never have a good relationship with my family, and I understand that you really CAN choose your family because family is more about love than it is about biology.

50. I love Canada and I love the town that I live in. Even if it usually sames like I'm the only one.
51. Going to work usually makes me extremely happy. I love my job.

59. Just because I don't want for myself what my parents want for me does NOT make me ungrateful. I'm very grateful for the life I've had so far; I just know how I want to spend my life and it so happens to be doing something that they aren't entirely in favour of.
60. For the most part, I know how to spell and use grammar correctly. And I do.
61. I like black coffee and dark chocolate.
62. I am SO excited to be old. Not like, in my twenties or thirties old, though, but more like in my fifties and sixties. Everything about being that age just sounds so appealing!
63. When I cry, there usually isn't really a reason for it. I just think that everyone needs to cry every once in a while. As silly as that sounds.
64. If I lost my iPod, I wouldn't bother buying a new one.

75. I write long, handwritten letters to people. Not so much emails.

And YES, if a teacher's hair looks nice or something that day, I WILL TELL THEM, because they obviously took extra time to look nice that day, and I'm sure they would like to hear that their efforts paid off. (That's totally directed at Emily and Meghan!)
82. I'm gradually beginning to accept - and love - my forehead after a lifetime of criticism.
83. I do weird things just to make myself feel things I've never felt before. I want to experience everything and don't want to waste my life stuck in an office all day.
84. Cigarette smoke is comforting.
85. I think the silliest things are hilarious. I'm still laughing at 'giddy like a schoolgirl,' and that was in the sixth grade.

92. I am ALWAYS thinking about SOMETHING. If you ever ask me what I'm thinking about, and I reply with 'nothing', I'm lying.
93. Truth isn't always best. I lie. A lot.
94. I can fall asleep on a bus really easily. I spent the majority of the bus trips to Winnipeg and Whitehorse sleeping.
95. I love the way I think.
96. Jazz music makes me feel weird. In a good way.
97. I own the most wonderful collection of socks you have ever seen.
98. When I sing along to songs, I usually play around and make my own harmonies. It's dorky, and most people don't like it, but they'll live. BACKGROUND VOCALS FOR THE WIN. Church band is cool.
99. I have over 250 volunteer hours.
100. I have a very distorted set of morals, and am unlike anyone you have ever met.

It took me 58 days to write this list, but it was so worth it.

i kinda like your list, i didn't read all of it, i just skimmed it but i did notice that a lot of your items revolved around possessions, you probably didn't mean to do that but it's just my observation.
the list is a great idea. the more we tell ourselves good things, the less we'll dwell on the bad. or at least that's what i've been told/sort of believe even though i don't practice it. it's much much easier to believe the bad.

There's a difference between being proud of who you are and recognizing things you like about yourself and being vain. I just think that, nowadays, people are so focused on others that they kind of forget to stop and think about themselves, and when they do think about themselves for five minutes, other people call it vanity.

3. I have a good tolerance for entertainment. I usually don't mind what a wide range of people like.
4. I easily appreciate what I have. My brother's never satisfied with our channel package, c'mon at least we HAVE cable.
5. I respect people that are a generation older than me. Too bad it's such a rarity for people my age.
6. It seems like I'm approachable. Not as popular as I am approachable, but that's good.
7. I have creative aspirations like writing and making music. That's always fun.
8. I like that I'm not in a gang. Gangs are scary. I'm just me.
9. I can usually post on twitter without looking self-centered. Why post a whole stream of info nobody can use or pass on?
10. I kill at miniature golf. Got the highest score out of 3 of my friends by a wide margin.
11. Having all my limbs, organs, and bones intact feels nice.
12. I like that I'm not dead. Hmm... this is going downhill.
13. I think before I do. Before I speak? Not so well.
14. I know how to manage my money pretty well.
15. I go for the 1% milk. I like making that decision.

i kinda like your list, i didn't read all of it, i just skimmed it but i did notice that a lot of your items revolved around possessions, you probably didn't mean to do that but it's just my observation.
the list is a great idea. the more we tell ourselves good things, the less we'll dwell on the bad. or at least that's what i've been told/sort of believe even though i don't practice it. it's much much easier to believe the bad.

No problem! I found that cd at a used cd store back in the earlier parts of this year and I had to contain my squeeing, lol. I had bought it off of iTunes (along with "Math and Other Problems") but I had found the "Hey!" album at another used cd store and wanted to find the others so I was happy when I found 'ReadySexGo!' except there is a sticker where her hand is because it was some kind of advanced copy. I guess 'Math and Other Problems" is hard to find so I'm happy with the two that I got plus all my Butch stuff :)

Thanks about my user name..that's one of my fave BW songs. I love the emotion he puts into it and I finally got see him live in March for the first time :)
