View Full Version : Most Romantic Songs from our Scene

I'm not sure if romantic is the right word to use for this, but my girlfriend was just reading an online article about the most romantic songs of all time. For the most part, they were all songs by Whitney Houston, Etta James, Norah Jones, etc, etc etc.
Anyways, this got me to wondering...What are some of the most "romantic" (for lack of a better word) songs from bands in the scene covered by AP.net? Discuss.

It's hard to think of songs in this scene that see an aesthetic arising from strong emotional experiences or emotions evoked by experiences of nature, so I would say you're looking in the wrong place.

I don't think it's a cop out. It's more general, yes, and it therefore encompasses most of the bands mentioned on this site and not just the ones that people think are "scene" - which is what Ryan's initial post seemed to refer to. I can think of term, besides "alternative", that refers to bands like Brand new and TDWP, both of which are part of this scene on absolutepunk.net. I wouldn't dare use the word "punk," because we all know how much crap I'd get from people on this site for calling Brand New and TDWP "punk".
