Aikman has been my favorite football player since he joined the cowboys, I was pleased to hear he made the hall

Derrick Thomas should have been in there already

I'm sure he will be, Moon made it so i was pretty happy about that, I am dissapointed that Irvin was not inducted, he deserves to be there for his onfield actions

I hope Irvin never gets in. Like Keyshawn said

Keyshawn: I was looking at the stats, and Michael Irvin ain't never led the league in nuthin'
Irvin: YES I DID!
Keyshawn: What?
Irvin: ....YAHHDS.

Big deal, he led the league in one thing one time, and he only had 65 TD receptions, and one season with 10 TD catches. He's definitely not first ballot material, and I think he deserves to wait a few years for the HOF.

I like this class. I'm sad that I probably won't be working there this summer to meet any of them :(
I'll have to go back and help during that weekend.

yeah. he needs to get in the hall.

Derrick Thomas.

he was pretty one-dimensional, and i don't think his tragic death should boost his candidacy. he's a borderline guy that i wouldnt have a problem with getting in someday, but not over any of these 6 (or art monk).

he was arguably the best linebacker of the 90s.

he was a phenomenal pass rusher but he wasnt particularly good at stopping the run. He'll probably make it someday and he'll deserve it, but he didnt deserve it over these other 6. He isn't a sure-thing, early induction lock. Very few players are.

I wanted to see Thurman Thomas in the Hall. maybe in the next couple of years.

Michael Irvin will miss his own induction because he'll be in jail on coke posession.

Art Monk needs to be in. Irvin also. But other than that, i have no problem with any of the 2006 class. Surprised as FUCK that Warren Moon got in, but i'm so glad he did.

All 6 should have gotten in by Derrick Thomas, Thurman Thomas, Michael Irvin, Art Monk, and Gary Zimmerman all should get in without a doubt.

Art Monk and Derrick Thomas should get in. I'm not sure about Michael Irvin, he was good but not superb but i think he'll eventually get in.

not funny.

he didnt get in because many felt he hindered the raiders from winning more super bowls than they did. but alone him creating the madden games, to promote to a new fan base in teenagers and younger has done wonders for the game.

Not superb? Without Irvin, Dallas's passing game goes down the tubes and then defenses stack 8 in the box to stop Emmitt. Without one of these guys, Irvin, Emmitt or Aikman- the cowboys don't work.

Madden took the raiders to the AFC championship game in 7 of his ten years as coach. I don't know if that is hall worthy (me not being up on the coaches that are in there) but thats damn good. I agree with the fact that his impact on the game could be argued for a vote. I'm glad Reggie's in there. What a man of character.

I think all he was saying is that there were alot of guys who could have been 'michael irvin'.... A really good receiver, on a really good team, with a really great QB and a really great RB. He's no way a first ballot guy. I'd argue against him because he is such a blemish on the character of football... but look at the baseball hall of fame.

i definitely think irvin belongs in there. i can agree with the argument that he's not a first ballot guy. i think he could have easily been a second time guy though. it'd had been nice to see him go in with aikman.

i just hope they don't make him wait another four years so they can induct him with smith. that won't be a very strong first ballot class, so i don't see it taking any longer than that to get him in, worst case scenario.

he won a super bowl in 76 and has the highest winning percentage of any nfl coach i believe.

I'm kind of on the fence for Art Monk. The guy played a long time, so he kind of looks like a compiler to me. Only having 3 Pro Bowls doesn't help either, and hardly any top 10 yearly finishes in the main receiving categories looks really bad. And 5 1000 yard seasons and no more than 8 TDs in 16 seasons is bad. I guess I'd say no to Art Monk. If there's a Hall Of Good For A Long Time, sign him up.

i disagree. he played at a consistently well level for 16 years. i think longetivity should count for something, espcially if you're consistenly reliable over a long peiod of time.

Longevity does count (which is why I'm torn on TD making it too), but you also need some moments of greatness. Only 3 Pro Bowls and 5 1000 yard seasons just don't cut it.

rod smith anyone? the guy shows no signs of going away. he's been a rock for denver and really saved their asses this season because Lelie is proving to be a bust.

see, i guess i can see both sides of the argument. i think somebody like art monk should be in there due to longevity. but i also strongly believe that td should be in there despite the lack of longevity.

He's going to have to play at a very productive level for about 5 more seasons if he wants to be considered.

His resume (from what I can tell) as of now is:
15th all time in receptions (797)
16th all time in yards (10877)
35th (t) all time in TD catches (65)
3 Pro Bowls
8 1000 yard seasons
2 seasons with 11+ TD's
2 SB rings
Led the league in receptions once
Only UFA to have 10,000 receiving yards
Solid postseason numbers

He has a shot to move up in the all time rankings.
8th in catches if he gets past 951 grabs by Andre Reed, and the active people that will be ahead of him are Harrison, Jimmy Smith, McCardell, Bruce

The problem TD has is the Denver RB system. It's been proven you could stick any back in there and they'll produce. Clinton Portis would have blown TD's numbers away if he stayed in Denver.

yeah, i can see that, but i don't buy it. td still has a 2000 yard season and super bowl mvp under his belt. i understand any back produces in that system. but nobody's produced at the level he did.

I am just happy Warren Moon got in. I really enjoyed watching him play for the Oilers growing up. He had an amazing arm. I really wish they would have never gone to Tennesse oh well.
