I haven't really discovered any new music this week but anyway, here are my recommendations:

Ever We Fall (http://www.purevolume.com/everwefall)- Their new CD, We Are But Human, will suprise a lot of people. It's a very strong release, you can listen to some of the songs off of their new CD on their pureVOLUME page (http://www.purevolume.com/everwefall).

Valencia (http://www.purevolume.com/valencia)- I have no idea how they beat The Academy Is... in Spin's 'Band of the Year' contest but I'm happy for them. If you haven't taken a listen to this band you definitly should, they are like.. Hidden In Plain View.

30 Seconds To Mars (http://www.purevolume.com/30secondstomars)- One of my favorite CD's that came out this summer. Take a listen to the song "Attack".

Gatsby Gets The Green Light (http://www.purevolume.com/gatsbygetsthegreenlight)- it's pop punk with an "unsigned sound". I think these guys will get pretty big in a couple years.

Nice recs Ryan, I need to check out Gatsby Gets the Green Light and Valencia again...

Are 30 seconds to Mars really that good? I don't remember being impressed.

Valencia sounding like h.i.p.v? no way man those guys are such a killer pop punk band. i love their cd so much, i want more! haha I showed Valencia to one of my friends and he was like they remind me of hipv. Just going by someone elses first impression, since I didn't really know who to compare them to.

So Jared Leto's gonna be in this movie where he's playing the guy who killed Lennon. But the guys real fat, thusly Leto has to become fat. It'll be funny to see fat Leto rockin' out onstage.

I think people should worry less about the alterna-Gatsby's name and more about why they are only ok, at best. Felt pretty plain to me.

There should only be one band with the name Gatsby in it, and I think "Gatsby Gets the Green Light" is one of the worst band names I have EVER heard. Did they even read the book?

it is a year ago. wow. that guy is actually in the band too - it's amazing what you can find out when you're a mod.

p.s. - explain to me how naming a band the opposite of what happens in a book is irony. do you even know what irony is?
