I had Matt Rumolo, co-owner of Tamerlane Recordings (http://www.tamerlanerecordings.com/), join me for recs this week. Matt's label has signed Buffalo, NY product Damiera (http://www.myspace.com/damiera) as their very first artist. With quality artists like Damiera, Tamerlane is bound to get huge.
My Recs:
Pretty Girls Make Graves (http://www.purevolume.com/prettygirlsmakegraves) - Everything this band touches is sex. I love Good Health, The New Romance is great, and Elan Vital will blow anything PGMG has done to date out of the water. Just you watch.
My Getaway (http://www.purevolume.com/mygetaway) - This is definitely a Florida-based unsigned band that labels need to take notice of. So should you; go check these guys out.
The Living End (http://http//www.myspace.com/thelivingend) - Aussie rock to the core, The Living End took a recording break after the Mark Trombino-produced Modern Artillery. They return bigger and bolder than ever with State of Emergency. Go listen to this sonic attack of pop-punk the way pop-punk should be. Unfortunately, the album is not in stores here in the US, only Down Under. But this is one time where I'd say if you can't purchase the import, obtain it via other means. It's very good.

Matt's Recs:
Jimmy Eat World (http://www.purevolume.com/jimmyeatworld) – Stay On My Side Tonight EP: This is probably one of my favorite JEW releases. You can tell they put so much emotion behind the music and lyrics and it came out perfect. I listen to this CD every night. My favorite song, "Disintegration," hits the spot.
Cassino (http://www.purevolume.com/cassino) – I will always be a big Northstar fan, so anything that these guys do I will love.
Her Candane (http://www.purevolume.com/hercandane) – My friend showed me this band recently and ever since I've been listening to their new songs on their purevolume page a lot. I would say if you're fans of Everytime I Die you will like these guys.
Adrastos (http://www.purevolume.com/adrastos) - I Don't Wanna Go Home, I Wanna Go To Reno!: This band WILL get big. They write great music and are great guys. If the song "Coming Back" doesn't hook you, then there is something wrong with you.
Sleepaway (http://www.purevolume.com/sleepaway) – I believe their album comes out in June and I cannot wait. I love Alex's voice and the chorus of "Best Unspoken." I recently had the chance to see and meet these guys in Buffalo and they're a magnificent group of guys. They're touring soon so make sure you get to see them if they're playing near you.
And of course, listen to Damiera (http://www.purevolume.com/damiera). Haha.

That finishes up my recommendations for this week. Special thanks to Matt. Go check out some awesome freaking bands and get back to me. Go! You've got homework this week.
If anyone in the industry, either as a manager, band member, label owner, publicist, or someone along those lines would like to guest with recommendations, please e-mail me at tony.pascarella@absolutepunk.net and we will work something out.
