More power to the Federal Reserve? So bankers are going to sort out the banking crisis now?

And why is the Washington Times writing:
"The Federal Reserve, already arguably the most powerful agency in the U.S. government"
Are their writers retarded? Since when was the Fed part of the US government? Or is their job to mislead Americans now?

People are idiots if they believe this institution operates completely independently. The Congress has complete oversight over it, not to mention the President appoints the board of governors.

Woodrow Wilson after signing the Federal Reserve Act:
"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men."
"The government, which was designed for the people, has got into the hands of the bosses and their employers, the special interests. An invisible empire has been set up above the forms of democracy."

Alan Greenspan on the Federal Reserve:
"There is no other agency of government that can overrule the actions that we take..."

Alan Greenspan is right. He answered to no agency. He answered to the Congress. Laws regulate what the institution can do.

People don't know what the fuck congressional oversight is should seriously simply NEVER talk about Politics, considering that's about 80% of the point of Congress.

my roommate also believes that the somalian pirate incident was set up, so the US government can invade Africa, take its resources, since Obama's cousin is the ruler of Kenya. Now thats a full-proof plan!

the lincoln quote in the beginning was proven false. Not only that, most of the "experts" were rappers, a conspiracy historian, and Joe Rogan.

Haha, I found most of the 'experts' to be annoying, although I don't think it matters too much that some of them are rappers, they are only giving their opinions at the end of the day.
Thought that bit was great on the extras where they head to that convention and shout "9/11 was an inside job!" repeatedly over megaphones and you can hear it in the background on the news, haha.

Evidence is apparently subjective because Loose Change offered little to no evidence. Check out the Popular Mechanics debate with the Loose Change kids, those guys factcheck'd the shit out of them.

Well from my point of view when I watched it, I could see the evidence as they presented it and make up my own mind about it. With The Obama Deception, it seemed like they were just saying "Here's what happens - deal with it."

I've said this before, but read the article of popular mechanics on the 9-11 conspiracy. the whole conspiracy is debunked and fact checked. loose change trys to convince you with 3D video work and scary music, but their "investigation" is made of just hypothesis and no experiment or credible resources.
lew_1987
06/18/09, 04:26 PM
I mean at the end of the day, there's not a lot they can prove about these grand theories - all they can do is present the evidence as they see it and let people decide for themselves. And they need to realise that they can't force it on people and just expect them to accept it.
I will definitely check that video out though.

yeah true, the only reason i'm like this is because this whole "9-11 truther" fad has become too big and too stupid. Its become big enough that people have become completley oblivious to the fact that there is evidence that terrorists did cause 9-11. Yes, it might have been prevented if the Bush adminstration had listened to intelligence, but it does not mean the government was hand in hand with the attack. Its just that people call themselves open minded when they believe this, when in reality they are being close minded.

No its Arun Russo. The guy that did trading places with eddie murphy. If you watch the movie he shamelessly brings that up about 100 times.

bilderberg group rulez lolzI love it when people who believe this stuff call into a Libertarian podcast I listen to. They are the most crazy and the most amusing.
One lady called in and talked about both of these things and also talked about how Jesus was alive, living in Australia and she had his phone number and address....
