i would like to add a few names to the list.david west, boris diaw, josh howard, zaza pachulia are a few i think should be on there too. some arent the most exciting, but they're becoming some of the good players in the leauge.

if it's organized right, yes. The people leading USA basketball have fucked the team's up beyond all recognition lately though. Hopefully, Colangelo will get it right this time. Still, you're talking about a potential Dream Team 6-10 years down the road. Not gonna happen yet.

morrison should be a dominant player in the league in a few years. and darko, well hes in a class of his own.

may I ask why Jameer Nelson isn't on that list?

Caleb Cattivera

i dont think there's a remote chance at another dream team as dominant as the 92 squad. that team completely dominated every team they faced. i dont see another team being assembled and being that good. basketball now has some good guards, but the centers were more dominant back then.

probably because he wasnt even the best player on that unbelievably overrated st joes team.

Another reason there will never be a US Dream Team like 92 is international competition is much better than it was 14 years ago. The game of basketball has grown so much and will keep growing as more and more international stars make a name for themselves in the NBA.

i agree. that team had bird, magic and mj. we may never see three players of that calibre again, especially all playing together. and nowadays, alot of the top players in the league won't play for team usa. i think it will be a while before there is another extremely dominant olympic team like that.

mike ford...why not boris diaw?

if you guys have jefferson and perkins on there. diaw definately belongs on there.

as for nelson...if delonte west is on there, he should be on as well. nelson's been more impressive in two seasons than west has.

yeah especially because all the people that should be on it, don't want to be on it. pretty pathetic if you ask me, somehow I thought it was an honor to play for your country in the olympics, guess I was wrong.

yeah the team from the 04 olympics was horribly embarassing. minus iverson and duncan that team looked horrible. there were good players on that team...but they hadn't developed yet.

yeah i was embarrassed at the team that we had. a lot of players that should have been on it decided they were too good to play in the olympics or something. get over yourselves and represent your country.

I just think, come 2012, you are talking about a potential lineup of

Lebron
Wade
Howard
Oden
Bosh

They will all be in there prime and if they continue to develop - thats a team that can dominant the competition the way the Dream Team did. Throw in a bench of Duncan, Paul, Anthony, etc. and you have a magnificently deep team.

Comparing the Dream Team's talent to that of the potential of this group is tough, but I think that team would at least have the ability to dominate the way the Dream Team did. Whether or not the individual legacies of the players will be as great remains to be seen.

oden hasnt even played in the nba yet...cant believe you said him.

none of those players will amount to any of the starts on the 92 team. there will never be another greater set of players put together for any team.

Oden was a sure thing at #1 if he didnt have to go to OSU next year. Like I said, if he lives up to his potential and continues to develop (just like everyone else on that list), he has the ability to be a dominant big man in international play.

Also, I mentioned that I don't think the players individual legacies can equal that of the Dream Team. I'm not trying to compare Wade to Magic and Bosh to Bird, but I do think they can dominant in the Olympics like the Dream Team did though. These young kids have the potential to be extraordinary.

He'll have all of the nation's basketball fans ready to lynch his ass if he decides to ball hog it in the Olympics and doesn't win us a medal.

haha you guys are idiots sometimes.

since he's been a starter for the lakers kobe's averaged over 5 assits per game. you guys need to learn to not hate.

I never said he's not a great player.

But he does shoot the ball a whole hell of a lot.

And if you're sharing the court with 4 other great players, which on the Olympic team he would be, you can't just shoot every time you touch the ball.

i have watched a few. but i can just tell by the stats that jameer nelson is better than delonte...

as for jefferson and perkins...they're not exciting. they possibly could be in a few years, but as for this season, jefferson was labeled a 'beast' by alot of papers, and columnists...he's not been a beast, then again he hasnt got the PT. i still have hope in him though.

i just think that list was very biased by including those three players.

LeftWideOpen

Anyone who has watched the Celtics lately knows why Kendrick Perkins is on that list.

I agree that Delonte is not one of the elite young players in the league, but Perkins most certainly is and once Jefferson learns to bring his game every night, he'll be too. Those two are the foundation of what could be the best frontcourt in the NBA in a mere 2 years. They are the only reason I am actively interested in the Celtics this late in the season despite the poor record, too. They are something to be excited about.

perkins started the whole month of december. never scored in double digits once, and only grabbed double digit rebounds once...he may be good in a few years, but his name doesnt deserve to be on that list until he proves himself in this leauge...which he's yet to do.

im not doubting his potential, he's just not been impressive to me this season.

yeah, but in january he put up 3 double digit rebound games and 6 double digit points. now in three games in february he's hit double digits in boards in all three and once in points.

dude is a beast and he's progressing as the season goes on and as he gets more minutes.

not really. deng has put up some very impressive games this season. plus his scoring is double both of them. same with AI4. once again, im not doubting perkins and jefferson, because personally i like al jefferson and think he has potential to be a dwight howard type of player...

but until they get the PT...id leave their names off that list.
