Back in 2001 I had a band with a few friends in high school that lasted a few months, after the band broke up I never bothered forming a new band but I kept writing songs. Sadly, I was a REALLY bad song-writer. A while later I picked up a guitar and it turns out, I'm an equally awful guitarist. It was then I realized that use my lack of actual songwriting talent and attempt to instead of write "serious" songs, write satartical mock-punk.
In 2004 I recorded my first "album" titled "Saint Mort: Plays guitar like a dying goat". The 10 track CD was a mocking of punk music's ability to sound entirely too identical. To do this every single song on the album consisted of the same 4 chords just played and different tempos. It was this CD that I got my favorite review and slogan for my "project", the quote was from the now deflated website Moshpitwookie.com which said "Either Saint Mort is a punk rock genius or completely retarded".
Since 2004 I've been occasionally writing new material (including venturing into Parodies a bit) and opened up for a few of my friends bands when they had enough pull with the promoter to give me a shot. I've finally written enough material that I"m proud of to do a 2nd album which I plan to title "Handbook on being Scene"
I have a bunch of songs up on my myspace (both old and new) and would really appreciate some feedback
